Hello!
I'm a reporter for National Public Radio, working on a story about the candidacy of Gary Coleman, who's running fo Governor of California. Hoping to locate a recorded copy of his famous "What you talkin' about, Willis?" line, as well as the theme song from "Diff'rent Strokes." I tried to use the version from the web, but it's not going to work to be broadcast. If you have a copy i can borrow, I'd appreciate it. Please contact me at mdelbarco@npr.org

thanks!

I would think the Whatchootalking about and the DS theme would be the last thing Gary would like to hear....jmo

I was told that a radio station over here were talking about the election an instead of Gary saying anything they just kept playing the DS theme repeatedly.

That's just sad. Let the man get his word in. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't win if they didn't play his words, and I don't mean 'Whatchootalkingbout' either. Maybe Gary would be the best man for the job, but no as long as people keep playing his catchphrase, they'll never take him seriously.

You know, I really don't blame Gary for wanting to get away from Diff'rent Strokes. Can't really blame him now.

While I agree that the media over does, to say the very least, the DS connection, Gary Coleman is not a serious candidate for governor, and he knows it. He is media savvy enough to know what to expect going in. I've seen him on certain programs, and have felt bad for him when the DS connection takes over all else. In this run for the gov case though, he's asking for it so what ever he gets, he gets. I've stood by him in his plight to escape critism and ridicule. If he has fun with this gov thing, more power to him. If he takes some abuse for it, he knew what to expect so no sympathy from me on this one.
