Last Saturday night I caught the episode when Gloria was going through her time of the month. The episode was funny but in many ways I saw Gloria's immaturity shined in that episode and her lack of respect for her parents. In real life if an adult child living under the parents roof spoke to them in a rude and disrectful way that child would had been homeless immediately. Let's not even go there about Mike. Living under someone's roof for free and copping an arrogant attitude. I don't blame Edith for being angry with Gloria. Any parent would had been hurt and angry if their child called them a "nothing" like Gloria did to Edith.

I totally agree. If I was Edith, I probably would have kicked her out!

Part of loving someone is accepting them...especially when they aren't feeling well. As someone who has experienced monthly pain and mood swings, I have actually lashed out at my loved ones and fortunately they have forgiven me. Edith is a loving and understanding mother. The purpose of this ep was to shed light on the process of menstruation, and how it affects or can affect a woman and her family. Can I assume the previous posters are male? It would seem odd for a female to say they wished Gloria banished from her loving home because she a period melt-down in front of her own mother.
