My :censored: VCR ate one of my tapes tonight!

Oh cruel fate why does thou mock me?

That's the first time that has ever happened with this VCR.

I don't think I'll ever get to see the Denis Leary Roast!!

I just hate it when that happens. One of my VCR's almost wrecked a Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode that I had spent almost 20 dollars on (and this was before I had a job and could afford loads and loads of tapes)

Yep a long time ago my VCR ate up my Rudolph The rednosed reindeer tape. I use to watch it everyday when I was little and it just ate it up, I was so sad. :mad:

Damn VCR ate my Grease tape last week, i was so mad! I hate it when that happens.

My Current VCR Eats stuff when you push rewind. I Try not to but sometimes i mess up and accidently do it. Lost 3 or 4 tapes in the past few weeks.

OMG I have a VCR story. Well, last December I was making the effort to tape Happy Days in ORDER and finally do some good labeling. Yah, I go to do the tape.. and it EATS IT UP. It :grady: me off so much, I chucked the tape in the trash and stopped taping. Every time I try to tape the damn show correctly.. SOMETHING GOES WRONG. :cuss:

i had an audio tape that got eated by the tapeplayer. i had it for about a year... i took it apart and tried to fix it but i ripped the tape :lol:

Yeah, one of my VCRs eats tapes too. It only happens when I push 'rewind,' just like Chad's. It flashes "1" then the VCR shuts off. I just carefully remove the top and carefully get the tape out from around all the levers and knobs. I've only wrecked one - that wasn't mine - but getting freaked out and RIPPING the tape out. Oops. :eek:

I think my VCR is anorexic. It never eats any of my tapes.;)

mine too

My folks VCR...ugh. The eject button works when it feels like it. I've slapped it, hit it, kicked it, threatened it...pile of crap.

And one of my old VCRs did eat a tape once. But lightning hit it and it fried.

Same here...I've had mine since 1998, it hasn't ate any of my tapes or movies yet, even tho I use my VCR a LOT. :lol:

My neighbor has a VCR she has had since 1986, and it STILL works! :eek:

my vcrs doesnt eat tapes..they just die...and randomly shut off...this is my third one that has done this..ugh

Mine's never eaten a tape. But with the way stuff malfunctions in my house, it can't be long in coming.

that used to happen to me on my old one, so i took a soda bottle cap and i scotch taped it over the button so i wouldnt accidently press it

Yeah Mine flashes 1 too. I Try to get the tape out gently but it always rips.

Does anyone know what causes this? I've been wanting to get it fixed for awhile now.
