View Full Version : tonight's episode- "Sports & Leisure"
Krista2882 08-12-2003, 11:18 AM if I remember correctly, this episode is hilarious. It's the one when everyone gets together to play Trivial Pursuit, and they don't want to invite Roy, but they do anyway, or something like that... and Lowell thinks that the answer to every question is Ann Margaret, except for when that's actually the answer, and it drives Roy nuts, right?
hahaha I remember seeing that one way back when i first started watching the show, and I thought it was really funny.
I almost forgot about it until I looked it up on the episode guida a few days ago.

peter may 08-13-2003, 05:13 AM maybe i am just mean then
Krista2882 08-13-2003, 08:11 AM lol!
but anyway, I don't think I ever saw the first half of that episode! I didn't remember any of the beginning. I just remember the Trivial Pursuit part.
But yeah, that was a really funny episode.
I was laughing so hard at the part when Brian came in before their fishing trip, and was chasing Helen around making beleive he was sleep-walking. He reminded me of my brother! lol.
Hey, wasn't that one of the only times, or the only time, that Roy ever called Joe by his first name?

phoebe7165 08-13-2003, 07:51 PM I absolutely LOVE this episode!!! To think, that this show can have such a funny episode so early in their run, when so many other shows are still trying to find their niche. Then again, this is Wings we're talking about. Even in the 1st season, this ensemble goes together so great, it's like they've been acting together for years. The funny part about this episode is not so much Lowell always answering Ann-Margret, but his excuses for his answers. Simon Weisenthal could've been one of those crazed fans or Ann-Margret being the largest silver supplier in the world because of all the jewelry she wears in her Vegas act. Too funny!!

yeah- I've noticed that too. with a lot of other TV shows, when you see the first couple of seasons after you've watched the whole series all the way through, you notice how at the beginning, the actors still seemed to be still getting comfortable with each other. With Wings, it always felt like all of the cast members had been working together for a long time, from the very beginning.
Skywalker 01-19-2004, 06:40 PM Great episode! I thought the scene with Brian chasing Helen was hilarious . The trivial pursuit was the best thing in the episode though.
pilotguy 01-19-2004, 06:59 PM I think that this episode is one of the true CLASSICS of the entire run! Plus, I like the idea of the gang getting together socially outside of the airport....It's a nice touch.
AngeFaitore 01-19-2004, 08:07 PM Lowell's classic Ann-Margret answer. What a trip!

lol yeah, I LOOOVE that. haha. It makes me laugh so hard. He reminds me of my brother. especially when Helen runs into the office and closes the door, and Brian keeps walking into it. hahahaha

and i just realized that i said basically the same thing, a few posts back in this thread, back in August. haha
spunkygirl 01-20-2004, 04:08 AM This is a great episode! I was rolling at "Ann Margaret" for every answer, then when Faye said it for her answer too, that made it even funnier
Brian chasing Helen was great! Classic Brian ;)
pilotguy 01-20-2004, 09:33 AM Something else that's funny about that "Sports and Leisure" episode....Watch Brian during the "Trivial Pursuit" game....he's like a hyper kid!
He keeps getting up, going from one end of the living room to the other, hanging over the sofa while waving his legs in the air, getting in people's faces, etc....It's like somebody brought a 6-year old along with them and the kid's bored and antsy with the whole thing!

You don't remember the fishing trip? lol! Brian pretends to be asleep and chases Helen, Joe shows up in this fishing outfit that screams "over-achiever" and then he asks Helen why she's wearing long pants and she answers that she didn't have time to shave her legs. The guys are like, "Ewwww!"
Remember?
Hee hee. I loved that ep also. I was cracking up right with them when Roy was crying.
Love,

(psssst! the first bunch posts in this thread were from back in August ;) so that was the last time I saw the episode. not this time. hehe)
and yeah. I thought that was so weird about the guys grossing out when Helen said that she didn't have time to shave her legs. lol! I mean, these guys have known her forever, and they still skeeve out about something like that? I say stuff like that around my guy friends... I'll be like, "oh man, I need to shave my legs!" and they'll be like, "oh, thanks for sharing." haha. They don't gross out!

Well, I'm kind of surprised that Brian was grossed out...but remember that Joe has a VERY weak stomach for stuff like that!

lol yeah, and Brian actually seemed more grossed out than Joe.
phoebe7165 01-20-2004, 09:49 PM There's a part near the end of the Trivial Pursuit game when everybody is telling their stories about where they were when the lights went out then Brian says "Oh, the stories". When I'm on the road, sadly, I don't associate with alot of the other truck drivers, and one of the reasons is I think they talk too much. They're always telling their 'fascinating' stories about things that happen to them on the road and it gets on my nerves, because they talk like they're 'hot sh*t'. Whenever I overhear them talking to each other, I roll my eyes and under my breath, say to myself "Oh, the stories"!!
And of course, when we're playing T.P., always have to answer Ann-Margret for at least one of the questions!!
Chocoholic 01-21-2004, 12:26 PM "Ann-Margaret!"
