View Full Version : Great Moments in Nature
MonarC 08-11-2003, 09:45 PM Have you ever gone camping, or fishing, or just had a cool moment outdoors and felt really good and at one with nature.
Like today it was really hot out side. Then this rainstorm came out of nowhere and the wind was blowing and it got really cool. It felt so good and I love moments like that.

°Bubbly Blonde° 08-11-2003, 09:54 PM I love nature, one time I felt at one with nature was when I was walking on this beach and there was hardly anyone on it but me and my 3 friends having a good time, and a few other people, and it was really dark and cloudy and a little drizzly, like it was about to storm but it never stormed and it felt sooo good outside.....and there are whole lot of other times but I cant name them all now.

I love to be at the beach when it's cloudy and grey. It is a great feeling.

animalcrackers 08-13-2003, 04:35 PM I love listening to the wind blowing thru the trees and bluesky's with white puffy clouds. Or just sitting on the beach watching the waves. Waking up in a sleeping bag, without a tent, in the early morning out in the woods. Afternoon rain showers, which is rare here in southern AZ.

I agree. Also, when it's just me on the beach in the morning just taking a walk.
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 08-14-2003, 03:25 PM My favorite part of nature is when it's rainy and cloudy. I know to some people that sounds weird because most people prefer it sunny and warm, but it just seems so much more relaxing when it's raining and even storming.

I agree.
Sterling Holobyte 08-14-2003, 03:51 PM I've had a lot of outdoor moments, but one time that really stands out is when I went out for a walk a few winters ago. It was night but you know how the snow makes it brighter so if you would look up at the sky it is dark, but down at your level there is this soft illumination? Well, it also was snowing these big, fluffy snowflakes covering everything and smoothing the landscape. And, even though I was walking around in town, there was nary a car in sight, and it was so peaceably quiet that I swear I could almost hear those snowflakes hitting the ground.
Moments like that are one of the reasons I love living in a small town.
Kay Scarpetta 08-14-2003, 04:06 PM Lately I haven't been much of an out-doors type, but I love nature when I'm alone. Riding my bike or taking a walk through the woods, just breathing the fresh air and clearing my head. I take a few walks like that a month through Van Horn Park. It's great.
The best moments in nature are when Sammy Jo and Claudia are having a bitchfight in the Carrington pond.
Max Whittaker 08-14-2003, 05:16 PM Rain makes me feel truly at peace with myself and one with nature.
Rain is the essence of life. Everything is refreshed and rejuvenated. The flowers look so happy dancing in the rain. I take the rich smell into my lungs, and I am born again!
The moments before the storm are tense and unpredictable because I never know whether the storm will change course and dash all my hopes away! But the peace that comes with the rain lasts the whole day. It is truly beautiful!

I love it when it rains. Thunder & Lighting are so cool during the day and especially at night. It's really romantic. I also love how after the rain everything looks washed and clean...

PZelda 08-15-2003, 12:29 AM I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE going outside early in the morning in the spring and the fall, because there's this thing about the air. It's so clean and cool. It has the kind of cool that when you draw in your breath, your head totally feels cleared. It gives you the fresh, nostalgic feeling (at least for me anyway).
And I LOVE being downtown when there's no people or cars to be found in sight...neighborhoods are fine, too...because the streetlights are SO awesome at night. It gives you that....feeling....You know? Like you're on the top of your world and nobody can stop you. IT'S NIGHT TIME, BABY. :)
ABlairican Pie 08-16-2003, 01:35 PM I remember going camping with my friends in the Cascades in 1986 on one of the trails off I-90, just miles from anywhere, and I went on my own and found pretty flowers, lots of blue jays, and these little rodents in the rocks we called "geeks" because they made this funny little noise like "GEEK!" The one thing that I really liked about this place was that it was so perfect, like the way God intended it, you get this impression of things being "just as they should be." I was so inspired by it that I started to write my first official novel.
I have yet to finish that novel, as well.

yeah. I know what you mean. My dad use to have a huge piece of land. I would go walking early in the morning through the trees and stuff and see little bunnies hopping along and feel the cool air and the fresh dew on the ground. It was so quiet and peaceful. Then taxes went way up so my dad had to sell about 1/2 of the property.:( Taxes SUC!!!
Dude111 02-14-2024, 12:29 AM I dont feel I ever waste my time when I spend my time in nature... Nothing more beautiful.... Nothing smells better,etc...........
Looking at nature documentaries isnt bad either and there are some beautiful free documentaries.
