View Full Version : Isn't "Good Times" a spin off of "Mr. Ed"? hawaii five-o 08-11-2003, 07:19 PM This is no more ridiculous than anything else I've read on this board. Mr. Television 08-11-2003, 07:23 PM Originally posted by hawaii five-o This is no more ridiculous than anything else I've read on this board.   Brian Damage 08-11-2003, 08:02 PM  Very good! LOL GeeBee 08-12-2003, 09:20 AM Originally posted by hawaii five-o This is no more ridiculous than anything else I've read on this board. Not exactly. "Maude" was a spin off of "Mr. Ed" and "Good Times" was a spin off from "Maude". dlemond 08-12-2003, 10:04 AM Mike Evans (from The Jeffersons, All in the Family) is credited with creating Good Times, but I have another theory. Mike Evans was also in Rich Man, Poor Man along with actor Dennis Dugan who was in She's Having a Baby with the real creator of Good Times, Kevin Bacon. hawaii five-o 08-13-2003, 02:39 PM Didn't Kevin Bacon ride Mr. Ed off into the sunset as Thelma waved? I think I remember that happening on an episode of "Good Times". So when you say, "Good times is not a spinoff of nothing", you're really saying, "Good Times is a spin-off of something." Lady T 08-13-2003, 07:30 PM Good Times a spin off of Mr.Ed.Yeah right:lol: Brian Damage 08-13-2003, 07:42 PM Originally posted by GeeBee However, everyone knows that in the English language, two negatives make a positive. On Maude, Florida's husband got a promotion at the Fire house and Florida didn't have to work. On Good Times, Florida was poor and also living in Chicago. Make Sense? All of this was explained in a 1975 Ebony Magazine. If you want a copy let me know. They changed some scenarios, but Maude was a way to introduce the Florida Evans character.
