I thought that "Hurricane Jeannie" was a pretty good and sentimental/touching episode and it would've been the perfect ending to the show. Tony finally confessing to the Doc, Jeannie's bottle smashing & Dr. Bellows deep sentiment of how he fully understood & deeply valued their friendship. Even though it was just a dream, you knew the deep friendship between them and that although Mr Bellows was the enemy all those years, he really was a good friend and would've understood after the initial shock.

“Hurricane Jeannie” was supposed to be the last show but during the last season a few show were preempted for ‘specials’. But instead of them shifting the shows and showing them in the correct order, they just saved the shows they skipped and showed them at the end of the season. So the last episode aired was that stupid “My Master the Chili King”. That was a terrible way to end the show.

Actually, the writers had intended on making Dr. Bellows actually find out about Jeannie, have Tony quit the space program, and have him spend the rest of his life with Jeannie. But they knew that NBC would probably screw things up and air the episodes out of order. It wouldn't have made much since if Tony had quit NASA one day and was back the next (in My Master the Chili King) so, at the last minute, they decided to write it into a dream sequence.

Hola amigos:

According to the book "Dreaming of Jeannie" written by Steven Cox there is a note about this episode that said:

' Hurricane Jeannie was the last episode of the series to be filmed. It, and the series , wrapped on January 30, 1970. Although the Jeannie ensemble did not officially know the show's fate, they all had feeling the network was going to blink this baby right off the grid. A sad day in TV land'.

Indeed a very sad day for the fans and the cast, but I like this episode it has a little drama and the script and cast were wonderful.
