There was one spinoff that was aired after it's parent show and was ALWAYS IN THE TOP TEN. That spinoff was A Different World which aired after the Cosby Show ever year.

If Checking IN aired after the Jeffersons, it would have lasted longer than 30 days. It aired on Thursday Nights.

It might have lasted a little longer, but the Florence character was out of her element without George to play off of.

Having George guest star occasionally would have helped Checking IN also.

I guess so, but it wouldn't be the same because Florence was no longer employed by The Jeffersons.

Since the Florence character was minor, they should have kept the show right next to the Jeffersons, And I didn't like how the got rid of the replacement maid when Florence's spinoff failed. That was so wrong.

Not sure about Checking In, but The Ropers would have definitely lasted longer if it had remained behind its parent show Three's Company. Its Saturday timeslot against CHiPs was its demise.

I'm glad Checking in didn't last. The Jeffersons wasn't the same without Florence. And Marla Gibbs did later have a hit show in 227. As for The Ropers, after the show was moved to Saturday night there was no helping it. More shows have died on Saturdays than on any other night.

Your right. If Checking In had lasted longer before being cancelled, Florence might have never returned to The Jeffersons, which would have been a shame. It's too bad The Ropers didn't last longer. ABC should have moved the show back to its old timeslot (behind TC) instead of cancelling it.

The Ropers shouldn't have had they're own show in the first place! They should have stayed on Three's Company! Mr. Furley could have been a tennant or somebody's boss.

I remember The Ropers being pretty good, actually. I thought Patricia McCormack was pretty hot, too hot to be married to Jeffrey Tambor.

Once they cancelled it, they should've ditched Furley and brought back Stanley and Helen. They could've had Bart Furley sell the building and the Ropers could've bought it back. If it sounds unreal, so what? No more unreal than everyone on Laverne & Shirley packing up en masse and moving to California. That was the beginning of the end of that show.

Once The Ropers left Three's Company , it was the beginning of the end. The next season, Suzanne Somers (Chrissy) left, which was the final nail in the coffin, even though it continued for three more years.

Let us not forget John Ritter...so sad about his passing.

Oh yes, Patricia was EXTREMELY HOT!! Everytime i look at the Ropers Episodes I have, i just be saying to myself Damm she was a Good looking woman.

Glad we agree on something. By the way, there are Ropers episodes that are shown in syndication. They have been repackaged as Three's Company episodes. Way back, I remember seeing a Ropers episode with a revised opening sequence titled Three's Company's Friends, The Ropers.

Yeah i think it's 2 Ropers episodes in the Three's Company Syndication Package. The Pilot and the episode when Jack and the Girls visit the Ropers at their new home.
