A New King Kong remake will hit theaters in 2005...
i'm tellin' ya, remakes suck
the 70's remake was decent because it was still before they had super special effects and stuff, but they can't make one in this age, they just caaaaaaaaan't!!!!!!!grrrrr

I'm actually ok about this remake:
1)People who have seen the graphics being designed for King Kong say that they're excellent
2)Peter Jackson is a fan of King Kong- and says he's doing the remake to make up for one of the disastrous and atrocious remakes- so as a fan I don't think he'll screw it up
3) Julia Roberts was supposedly interested in the Fay Wraye part.
4) A scene that was supposedly cut (or maybe just on the shooting script but never filmed) in which on the Island where King Kong is found the hunters also come across a giant spider- and someone is eaten by it- maybe be put into the film.
It seems like a remake I won't really mind. I hate remakes done just for the whole Hollywood 'make it again so the teeny boppers will like it' attitude- this doesn't seem to be like that.
Also they could do worse and do another King Kong rip- like 'King Kong Lives' or 'King Kong vs. Godzilla' which were crap.
Notice- in King Kong Lives how they just happen to have jumbo sized medical equipment around for an ape that size? It's kind of funny- as though they were expecting it.
Well, I didn't know Peter Jackson was involved. I think I have changed my mind about this project.
Question: Is the remake set in modern times, or are they going back to the same time period as the original. I think it would be cool to see some reall cool modern special effects in a 1920's setting.

Oh boy, here it comes! Another CGI movie monster. Blah.:(
I'm not saying that computer graphics aren't good, it's just that to me they seem to lack any humanity.
