View Full Version : The One Bad Thing about living in the Suburbs is......
TVFactFan 08-10-2003, 01:59 AM TREES!!!, In the winter, Ice and snow can caused tree branches to fall on wires and knock out ELECTRICITY. In the Summer, THUNDER Storms can lead to trees falling on cars, and wires. THe suburbs is not for me. I love a busy downtown area and that is where I will remain.
Mr. Television 08-10-2003, 02:00 AM an interesting post
I live in Maryland. It sucks ass here. Freezing brutal Winters, Hot and Humid summers. I went to Boston over the summer and I've decided thats where I wanna live after I graduate, well if I make it that far.:)
Titania 08-10-2003, 11:04 AM hmm, I see your point- but I live in the suburbs (orchard actually so we have plenty of trees..) and we've only once had problems caused by them and that was after a huge hurricane in the early 90s.
The power goes out more often because a car hits some pole or something a few miles away.

nope...not that kind of trees anyway
Moonlight Lady 08-10-2003, 04:07 PM I live in the suburbs and wouldn't dream of living in the city. It's nice and quiet here. Trees falling on power lines isn't a big deal if you don't make it one. When it happens, we just deal with it till the power comes back on. Doesn't happen that often around here anyway.
HuntingtonM15 08-10-2003, 04:17 PM I live in the suburbs and never had a problem with trees.
Tammy 08-10-2003, 05:57 PM My house is surrounded by trees and we never have any problems. We had an ice storm earlier this year that took out the phones and electricity but that was from the wind and ice.
*GoodMorningCalgary* 08-10-2003, 06:10 PM I love trees, the more the better!

But the fact that your phone and electric was out, isn't that a bad thing?
Brad Russ 08-10-2003, 07:15 PM I have only lived in the suburbs once in my life, and my only problem with it was boredom. Up until we moved, I had lived in a busy urban city my whole life, and was shocked at how quiet the suburbs were. I guess it's good for old people and stuff, but it just wasn't for me. I got my butt out of there after six months, and moved back to the city.

Well, it wasn't great but there was nothing that could have been done about it. The wind and ice brought the lines down, not the trees.
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 08-11-2003, 01:09 AM I love living in my little country town. Yah, trees have knocked down power lines, telephone poles, smashed houses, but Id much rather live in a small town than a busy and loud city full of traffic. Id love to live right next to a city, but one town over so I dont have to deal with everything in it.
Sterling Holobyte 08-11-2003, 01:16 AM I'll take trees and fields over buildings and parking lots anyday!

Gibson Girl 07-14-2025, 11:56 AM The thing that worries is a tree or trees falling on the house.
