View Full Version : My take on the current installment of "new" episodes...
realchic1999 08-09-2003, 03:09 PM I loved "Love is Debatable." Seeing Alan not being cocky was hilarious. And I totally felt the chemistry in that on-screen kiss between him and Darlene. (Someone elsewhere said that Tony O'Dell shoulda been afraid to do that since Robin Givens was going out with Mike Tyson...but I think she was dating Brian Robbins at the time, so he had nothing to worry about.)
Although the premise of "Moore Than You Know" was slightly cheesy, it had its moments. The "10-year reunion" scene was hysterical. Simone---barefoot, unhappy, and pregnant---by Eric?! Jawaharlal all rastafied and living on the beach with Darlene?! Dennis a street bum?! And "little" Janice---a Vanna White-wannabe?! I was cracking up for ages. Maria "turned out" to be like her mother---kinda fast and into men. Leslie Bega had the actress who played her mother's mannerisms down pat. (*Question-Did the same woman who played her mother on "Parent's Day" play her mother in the "Little Shop" episodes? I heard that Mrs. Borges returned then. I hope they did, since the two actresses look alike and sound alike.)

"Moore Than You Know" was very chessy. But Darlene looked real hot how she was dressed at the 10 year reunion.
realchic1999 08-11-2003, 11:56 AM Are you sure you're talking about Darlene? Wasn't she looking raggedy after living on the beach?
Anyway...I loved "Fatal Distraction." That was the best parody I've seen in a while. I hated how mean the boys were to Maria. When in season 2 did they show Maria acting like a loon? To me, it only happened season 1!
Last night's ep ("For Better, For Worse") was decent. And Nichelle Nichols' cameo was okay. Did anyone think it was cliche that almost all the couples (except for Jawaharlal and Sarah) had literally the same problems?

I rewatched the episode, Crimson, and you were right. She looked pretty decent for living on the beach for 10 years.
Just saw "Don't Play With Matches" over the weekend.
Jawaharlal has an arranged marriage to a 5-year-old. Ugh. (Ironic since when the show first came out, I was 5...and I now have a crush on the dude.) They could've used that in another episode to explore Jawaharlal's character more. But did they? Nope.
Dennis tried to set Arvid up with a guy. Ugh. (I have no problem with homosexuality...I have a problem with someone who is supposed to be your friend trying to screw you over like that.)
Simone's "match." Ugh. That guy was eerily creepy and grody. (Reminds me of this nerd someone hooked me up with...except he was actually taller than me.)
Dennis "pimping" the class out. Ugh.
Interesting as this episode was...I never said "ugh" so many times in my life.
warsaw dreams 08-19-2003, 12:10 PM I thought that episode was hilarious! Dennis was a good person at heart but he always had money on his mind. And as for him setting Arvid up with a guy... "doesn't mean he was a bad person"!
realchic1999 08-19-2003, 03:04 PM Yep, Dennis has his reasons for everything. He needed to find some way to get money to pay the class back!
I am still creeped out by Simone's date because he reminded me so much of this dork someone set me up with. The guy had problems. He was clingy---called my house every five minutes, creepy---he wanted to do my homework, and clueless---eh, I'll save the extremely creepy details for a PM. Let's just say, he makes Simone's date look like Ashton Kutcher.
Too bad no more new episodes (at least not for now). I am really going to miss this show when it goes. Just because it had low ratings, doesn't mean that people don't like it. Hey, look at "My So-Called Life." It was a short-lived show...but tons of people loved it.
Charmedsclub 08-19-2003, 05:00 PM awww realchic1999, im sorry U had that scary guy calling you, but now you can say Your life was a "Head of the class" episode lol
:D
warsaw dreams 08-20-2003, 09:14 AM There you go--pretend that part of your life was a sitcom!
Anyway, I thought HotC was doing good in the NAN ratings. Isn't there a petition we can fill out or something?
Charmedsclub 08-20-2003, 09:21 AM lol see I like to pretend im in Head of the class myself, and I take Eric to the gym locker room.....and er.....nothing..... A petition is a good idea! But I dont think Nick will care. Maybe if they didnt so 2 epidoes of a show at a time, their would be more room for good shows like our fav Head of the class.
warsaw dreams 08-20-2003, 09:40 AM I'm glad I'm not the only one that fantasizes about being on Head of the Class! Except mine tend to revolve more around Dennis!
realchic1999 08-20-2003, 04:58 PM I'm in the "pretend HOTC" club, too. Everytime I see Jawaharlal putting his arm around one of his classmates...especially his female ones...I get jealous!
That's what I like about this show. It's about real people and can be translated into real-life situations.
Charmedsclub 08-20-2003, 06:47 PM Thats so true real people, real feelings.
