Remember the ep Assignment:Earth? At the end of the ep when Kirk, Spock, Garry Seven, and Roberta were all in his apartment and Seven's cat briefly turned into a human lady with black hair. Well no one knows who that lady in real life was! Terry Garr (who played Roberta) did have a brief second when she was in the very same shot as the black haired lady, didn't she? Maybe Terri Garr knows who she is. I am also pointing out that Garr and the other lady were most likely in the same shot together because rumor had it that the black haired woman did her scene when Shatner, Nimoy, Robert Lansing(Seven), and Garr had all left the studio and footage of the woman was spliced into the footage of them. If Garr had been in the same shot with her, unless its ultra-great trick photography, that can't be the case. And I don't recall the ep well enough to be 100% sure Garr and the mystery lady were in the very same shot.
When Gary Seven's cat in cat form is heard making noises the noises were supplied by actress Barbera Babcock (Philanna in the TOS Plato's Stepchildren ep). But that's just the cat's voice she supplies. She isn't the mystery lady we see as the human cat.
Also, i know Asignment:Earth was a pilot for a series that didn't sell. But that's another point entirely.

Hi.
I do know one more thing about the episode. I once read a book about people who had guest starred on "Star Trek." Apparently Garr doesn't think much of science fiction, and considered this role kind of a lowly job which she had taken only to pay the bills. She said that she was glad that the pilot wasn't picked up. In fact, she agreed to the interview only on the provision that Trek not be mentioned. Strange as it seems, even relatively recently, a Trek guest star was emabarassed by having appeared on the show. I don't know anything about the pretty lady who played Isis, though.

Brandon, do you or anyoneelse remember Star Trek:The Scifi Channel Special Edition (or something very much like that) on five years ago on The Scifi Channel. I coulda almost have half sworn Garr was on an interview there talking abot the fact that SHE actually DESIGNED some of ROBERTA'S CLOTHES. Or was it in a written interview that Garr said she designed Roberta's clothes? Five years can wash away memories.

Hi.
I saw all of those, and I taped most of them (still unlabelled :( ), but the years have washed away my memories too. I don't remember an interview with her. That doesn't mean there wasn't one, of course, but it would be odd after the interview with her that I read and described.

Well, here's the four year thread bump right on time. :)
You can find out all the known details of Assignment Earth here:
http://www.TatHS.com/ae
Including:
Who played the human Isis?
What did Teri Garr say about her Trek experience to Starlog?
How did this back-door pilot originate?
I understand Garr said some kinder words about AE more recently in her autobiography and I'm in the process of acquiring this book for an update of my site.
Take care -
Scott
