Remember the black and white ep where Skipper tries to make Gilligan feel like a hero. The former does this by dressing up like a headhunter and all the while Skipper's getting into costume a real hedhunter shows up AND KIDNAPS ALL THE former Minnow PASSENGERS. Overhearing Skipper's plan earlier Gilligan treats the real headhunter like he's Skipper and goofs off around him and everything. Who plays the real headhunter? It's not in the closing credits of this ep (or in Joey Green's book wither).

Eddie Little Sky played the headhunter in this and various other episodes.

This info is from Sylvia Stoddard's GI book.

Hey, Courtney!

No offense, I don't think Eddie Little Sky was the headhunter in this particular episode. He was the headhunter in the one about the witch doctor with the voodoo dolls (you know, when the Professor was a zombie), and he played "Haruki" in the episode with the "fat native girl" who wanted to marry Gilligan (he challenged Gilligan for her hand). I'm off to see if I can find the headhunter in the "How to be a Hero" episode. It may very well have been Eddie Little Sky, I just don't remember the headhunter in this episode looking like he did in the others (does that make sense?).

Hey, I just call 'em as I read 'em. Like I said, I got that from Sylvia Stoddard's book. She may very well be dead wrong. I disagree with her on a lot of points she makes in the book AND have found a lot of mistakes. So we'll see ...

The actor playing the headhunter was uncredited in "How To Be A Hero," though, so that makes finding this out harder.

I haven't read that book, though I've heard of it. Like I said, I may very well be wrong, I just don't remember the headhunter in this episode looking like Eddie Little Sky did in the others.

I see that a man named "Russ Grieve" is credited as the headhunter in the "fat native girl" and the "orchestra" episodes. Maybe it was him. I can't find anything for sure one way or the other, so we may never know, LOL.

Again, I meant no offense. :D

LOVE your picture, BTW! Did you find it on the internet, or did you capture it from the ET in TVLand show?

Hehehe! Thanks!

I captured it from the Truth Behind the Sitcom Scandals show on FX. It's actually two screen caps edited together because they felt the need to pan up instead of showing it all at the same time.

I got this box called WinTV that let's me watch TV on my computer, and you can take screen captures as well. I hooked my VCR up to it, popped in the tape, and captured away!

I have tons of picc - from 'Nose By Any Other Name,' 'Second GG,' 'Matchmaker,' AND the MAG Wedding scene that TV Land edits out of 'Mr. and Mrs.???'. THAT is a great scene. **falls over**

I think the native in the ep:How to be a hero is the same guy who played the father of the native girl who fall in love with Gilligan in the ep:Gilligan's mother in law.If that's the case it's:Russ Grieve who played the role.Got this info from Sherwood's book.

Hope this help;)

Yeah, my hubby the computer geek, and our son, computer geek Jr., both have Win TV on their computers. I don't think they ever use it to capture images, though. It's pretty cool.

I think Celine is right--I'll need to see the episodes again, though, and try to remember exactly what those characters/guest actors look like.

I concur. The father in 'Gilligan's Mother-in-Law' and the headhunter in 'How to be a Hero' look a lot alike. It's a definite possibility.

Another strike against Sylvia Stoddard. I shoulda written that book... Dang.

yeah, that book does have issues with stuff. i've found some mistakes too, and i just plain don't agree with some of her observations and what not.

i got it at Dollar General for a buck.....what does that tell you? lol

Dude, your Dollar Store has good stuff. I hadta pay full price at Borders. LOL.

Her observations are totally wrong too. It's her opinion - she can't pass that off as episodic fact! Bah.

LOL!! it was on the little rack near the check-out mixed in with a bunch of various cheap half-rate novels and books with long haired hunks on the front. i passed by and out of the corner of my eye saw the word "island" and did a double take. yes, Dollar General is awesome.

but yeah....her observations are just HER opinions of stuff. and i hate how she gets all detailed with the boring stuff but leaves out the good parts. her character profiles are (in my opinion anyway) rather off as well. lol. we should've written that book.

Courtney, it's so hard keeping up with all the books on this and other TV shows, that I;m not up to speed (I';m afraid) on this book..

would be interesting if it mentions all the people who did the music besides those credited..

Russ Grieve also plays the chief of the marauding native tribe in "Music Hath Charm." Like Eddie Little Sky, he plays natives in three episodes. Of course, in "How to Be a Hero" he never speaks, so he's all the more scary.

I like to think that the father of the native girl really is the chief of the tribe from the Music episode. His daughter needed a husband, so perhaps he thought of venturing to another island in search of some new blood for the tribe (no pun intended!) The fact that no one we meet from either tribe seems to speak the same language could support this idea. (Shameless plug for my "Gilligan's Archipelago" thread!):p
