TVFactFan 08-08-2003, 09:25 PM College. It was a guy who lived on our floor who was quiet and stayed to hisself. So at night when he went to sleep, we poured Buckets and buckets of WATER under his door and also put shaving cream under his door-LOL Looking back at it now, we were so wrong.

fr00ti 08-08-2003, 09:29 PM It's really mean if the guy did nothing to deserve it. Cause I know how it feels to be picked on cause Im really quiet and keep to myself. It sucks. But If the guy deserved it, I think its ok. JMO.

It was another mean thing my friends did to him but i couldn't participate because i felt sorry for him. They tied his feet and hands together with duct tape and carried him in the bathroom, put him in the tub and turned on the shower and they went to class.

It's not really that easy. Maybe he was shy, maybe he just likes to keep to himself. Not everyone is going to open up right away, especially if it's your first time away from any family and friends.

Sorry but that's a load of BS! Who cares if he kept to himself, maybe he had reasons, did you think of that? Maybe it was guys like your friends, that made him keep to himself.
If I were that guy I would have filed assault charges for the bathtub incident, tying someone up is assault, and what if had drowned?
Sorry but that's just a sick and disgusting thing to do to someone just because they kept to themself. Who's business is it anyways if he kept to himself?

Im shy, quiet and keep to myself. Do I deserve to get duct taped and then showered on?! Do I deserve to have all my :grady: soaked and ruined because my dorm was flooded?
Frankly, I prefer to be by myself. I dont care to be bothered by people. I dont want to hear them nor their sob stories- leave me alone.

Sean Snow 08-09-2003, 12:29 AM I think it's wrong to do those two things to someone for no reason. Like someone else mentioned, you could've damaged their things with the water incident. And the entire thing your friends did with tying him up was just really wrong. Just because he's shy/quiet/keeps to himself isn't a good reason to do something so mean.

That isn't a good reason to do something like that. It's his personal preference. I personally also prefer to keep to myself. Some people you know in life are just so :oish.
Think about it this way: If everyone chose blue as their favorite color but you chose green, does that give them a good reason to do those things to you?

I dont see how he could've brought it on himself by being quiet. Maybe he's really insecure, and felt like if he did talk to someone he'd say something stupid. Maybe he felt like no one wanted to talk to him. Or maybe he was focusing more on his work than his social life. You don't know what's going on inside people's minds, so you really shouldn't try to guess about it. You could wind up doing something really mean and hurtful to somelike, like that poor guy.

The freshman year is when you have to be very socialable. I'm not saying what they did to the guy was right, but he could have talked to his floormates. He started looking like an ODD DUCK and that's when they decided to pour GALLONS of water in his room. But after all those Gallons of water i his room, he eventually became friends with everyone on the floor. I think they were just trying to get him to come out of his room. Especially on Friday.

F-A-M-I-L-E-S. What if your mother have died while you were a freshman an you stayed quiet for a few weeks because you were in mourning?Would you want guys to come, tie you up and gag you, and throw you in the tub? Unless it's some kid of a fetish of yours, the answer is no. You probably scarred the guy for life. Even if you did walk away, that's no excuse for not stopping them or getting the RA. THE R-A What if he had died from suffocation or starvation because no one had seen him for days and the roommate was away? Would you have shrugged it off and said 'Stuff happens'?!? Or maybe you would have said something like "WELL IT WAS HIS FAULT FOR NOT TALKING TO ANYONE - LOL" or "NOT MY FAULT, I WALKED AWAY - LOL."
And if you still feel the way you do, SOLOMON, I feel sorry for you. I hope you get what's coming to you.

Well obviously someone has a brain deficiecny and doesn't know what 'Answer the question, damnit' means.
The question wasn't asking about your friend. It was a hypothetical question about YOU (SOLOMON) and a scenario in which you didn't socialize for a few weeks because your MOTHER (SOLOMON'S MOTHER) died. You were in mourning and didn't talk or came out of your room for a few weeks. Are you here yet? GOOD. With that said, is that just cause to bound and gag YOU, (SOLOMON, AGAIN), and throw you in the bathtub and leave?!

Even if my mother died, it wouldn't stop me from speaking to people who lived on my floor. Now socializing would be difficult. But He wasn't even speaking to us. He would come from class and go striaght in his room. So by doing that, he made hisself a EASY TARGET

Nanny Fine 08-10-2003, 04:46 PM He could have just been hanging out with you to make sure and avoid another situation like what he had to endure before.
My high school years were filled with stuff that is brought up in this thread. I would not want to redo those years under any circumstance because what I went through was just about as much torture as you are going to find in high school. The worse the kids were to me the more withdrawn I became. Now, 16 years later, I STILL can't deal well socially with people. If I could have been "Friends" with them just to keep them away from me I would have.
No one has any right to do any of this stuff to anyone else for any reason. Shy, withdrawn, loner....we are all the same.

That is really stupid and apparently you can be a guy and not talk to your floormates cuz that guy you harassed didnt talk to people. DId it ever accure to you that he talked to other people on you're floor and not just you because were an a$shole to him? He probally chose not to talk to you because of what you were doing to him. It wasnt just a harmless prank as you see it, taping him up and leaving him in the shower is HA-RASS-MENT!!!!! Even though you didnt take part in that, you didnt go back and un-tie him and say, "Look, man, im sorry for all the water and what my friends have done to you." That would have been mature. Oh, and saying you were 18 and not mature is a really stupid excuse. Apparently you didnt learn anything from your mistakes. You have been right about one thing and it's that you arent mature. Just because you arent mature doesnt mean you didnt know better than to pick on someone who didnt want to be bothered. YOU knew better than to do that. When you are like 7 you know better than to just go up and call people names or punch them because they are different. God, you piss me off!!

Look, we all played pranks on each other. One day i left my room foor unlocked and when I came from class, all the guys on my floor went in my room took the sheets off my bed, hid my remote controls to my TV, put shaving cream on my door, took my VCR in put in the basement of the dorm, and took my TV and hid in the THEiR closet. So I came home to something WILD-LOL
Georgia's on my Mind 08-10-2003, 05:58 PM People like you annoy me, leave the world alone, it's not your responsibility/right to change people's social life..if thats what you were trying to do? moron.

Well he wouldn;t have slipped from the water because he had a rug in his room. And the thing that was tied up was his hands and feet so he would not have suffocated

I don't understand your Anger AT ALL
°Bubbly Blonde° 08-10-2003, 08:32 PM My friend actually asked me to help them with doing some mean stuff to this totally weird girl named Linzie in 8th grade, but I didnt, but they did it anyway......I didnt feel sorry for the girl though lol, if you knew her you wouldnt either probably.....
SOLOMON what u did was wrong, I mean some people just keep to themselves, it can be frustrating but that's just their nature I guess..
DarleneIllyria 08-10-2003, 09:07 PM  That prank was just messed up, Solomon. jmo All the other people have pointed out good reasons why a person is quiet. Sometimes you just have quiet people in this world. College is a giant step up and if you're shy and you don't know anybody, that's just hell. It is hell in any situation. It's hell in middle school, hell in high school, hell in college, hell in work. The guy might've wanted to speak to you guys before the whole prank thing, and he just didn't have the nerve to speak up. Oh god, what if I sound like a geek or a nerd? They'll reject me for sure. I just won't say anything at all. That's the best thing to do. You will have people that think that way.
And as everybody mentioned before a close death and being away from family, could be a reason. Or hell, look at my example above. Maybe the guy tried to make friends in his classes and nobody would have anything to do with him.
And being a Freshman it is tough whether it be in high school or college. It takes awhile to adjust. The guy might not have spoken or left his room for a few months, but maybe that would've changed his sophomore year. Maybe he was just the serious type that wanted to concentrate on studying. If you gotta do something, might as well do it right the first time. If you go out and party all night and get an hours sleep and you have serious classes in the morning, chances are you didn't get to study too much.
And Solomon, I know people are dissing you for the bathtub prank. Well, it's kind of semi bad. Yes, very good that you didn't actually participate in the prank, but you did know about it and that wasn't too great. So, I'll just count that as half bad. And I hate to be blunt, but bluntness is sometimes the only way to get a point across. **** happens and the pranks might've looked harmless to you and your friends but maybe the full picture wasn't showing up. What if when the guy was tied up, if the guy had a weak heart or something and you guys left him tied up and he's worrying that he'll never get untied and he just freaks and has a heart attack and dies. Some might scoff and say, that's just such a crazy explanation. Nobody could freak that much and have a heart attack, but you never know. You could think that one second and the guy could be dead the next second.
Czas na Zywiec 08-10-2003, 09:24 PM This is the last time that I want to reply in this thread because it pisses me the hell off. And I'm usually pretty light-hearted when it comes to pranks.
SOLOMON, you're insane. I would have said you were just a jerk, but to actually admit you did nothing to help the guy out when you KNEW what was going on, and then telling all of us about it and still finding it funny after all these years, well, that just makes you a horrible person. Like Jenny said, what if you guys came in a few hours later and found him DEAD?! I know exactly what you'd say.
"Well I guess that's just the way life is - LOL."

You right
Tammy 08-11-2003, 03:41 AM You know what gets me? You have admitted these pranks are immature and yet you still seem to find them funny. Basically, aren't you admitting you haven't matured at all since you were 18?

Are you saying he's right because you WOULD think something like, "Well I guess that's just the way life is - LOL" if the guy had died?
BinkyMcDoodle 08-11-2003, 08:31 AM What confuses me is why ask "Is this a mean prank?" if you're not willing to accept people answering yes? Sorry, don't get mad...just wondering...
OMG he made it up! No one would remember the exact age this happened, the exact year of college, what exactly happened, and what he exactly did. It's obvious to me now that he's making it up as he goes along. Ignore him everyone. He's trying to pull a fast one...

That's exactly what he would say. It's not his fault, yada, yada, yada..........
Like my brother would say he's a sick F*** I seriously think he needs to seek help, but they might admit him if he did

Hollow 08-12-2003, 07:58 PM Am i only one that doesnt get what the big damn deal is? i mean the reason (he brought it on himself for being quiet) was totally wrong but he just poured water in his room. I might have missed something since i didnt read the whole thread but how the hell can he die from having water all over his floor? dont jump down my throat, i might not be 100% sure what happened.

Some said he could have died from the guys tying his feet and hands together and placing in the tub and turning on the shower and leaving.

Woah i didnt read that part. they couldve probably gotten charged for that unless the drain was unplugged.

Well he was able to get out of the tub on his own because his hands and feet were duct taped. It wasn't like they tied his arms to his body and legs. I think it was just to get him wet. Not serious.
