You're right, Lodee...Vivian Vance was actually rather pretty...

The problems with Ethel's appearance on I.L. Lucy was the fact that her contract stipulated that she remain 20 lbs overweight, in order to appear dowdier (and older) than Lucy (who I believe was actually a year or two older than Vivian)...

But even given that, I'd still take Lucy...she was one of the most beautiful women in the world at that time...

Graham had found some web site that was doing a chimp comparison gag, and apparently it later got shut down!

No, but i've seen Saturday Night Live's subdued jokes about him, it's like they're afraid to ridicule him or something, it's supposed to be satire, then again, that show hasn't been funny in years. We had to endure 8 years of sex jokes about Clinton, so why shouldn't we have the same for Bush on his lack of knowledge?

Because the CIA will come and get you if you make jokes about Bush. Clearly they didn't mind jokes about Clinton. Mind you, Clinton's dad didn't used to run them, which I suppose must come into it.

Let's not go into Conspiracy theories, let's just say the FAR RIGHT fanatics have scared everybody away from FREE SPEECH making the world think it's Unamerican to make fun of politicians all of a sudden!

Just as well they don't try to make out it's Un-British to mock then! We'd have nothing left to do if we weren't allowed to mock world leaders. And George Bush, bless him, is such an easy target...

Been hearing amazing stuff in recent months about him winning in certain areas thanks to the disenfranchising of thousands of Black voters. I mean we're talking 1960s stuff here for goodness sakes! Now I'll grant you that Al Gore was no perfect candidate, but the least they could have done is have a recount. They'd have done it for a high school prom queen election with results like that, you'd think they'd take the leader of the free world at least that seriously! Insane.

Mind you, who am I to judge. I helped elect Tony Blair. That was a fantastic night. Staying up all night to watch the votes come in, the whole country one big party, everybody so happy to get rid of the corrupt and sleazy bunch we'd had for the last eighteen years - and look what it's turned into. Same here in Canada with that do nothing idiot Chretien. Bush won't even visit here because Chretien and his people have said some terrible things about him in private and our not supporting the war. I used to like Blair, so different from anything you've had before. Funny you should mention the Black thing, i just mentionned it on another site and made the same analogy as you, in this day and age, stopping black people from voting because they would vote Democrat, disgusting. They did do recounts, but when your brother's in charge, it's easier to come out on top. Florida's governor is his brother you know. I agree about Gore, mr bland and boring, i'm not pro Gore, just anti- Bush and his warmongering bunch. At this rate, i don't think he'll get a second term, then again Nixon got in twice and only Watergate got him out. Anyway we'd better stop this because i LOVE Americans, if not their President, and i hate WAR but support the poor innocent soldiers sent there and now being killed because of incompetence at the top. You know very well DawsonGirl is going to tell us this is all off topic, that's the one thing this board doesn't have, an OTHER thread!
