The only thing I remember similar to what you described is the rock tumbler (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00000ISUU/103-9473789-3809443) . You put the rocks in this machine and it's supposed to make the rocks look nice.

I know I'm not a girl and all, but I think the toy is called Treasure Rocks because I remember the commercial and it basically describes everything you have said.

In kindergarten I used to run to the station where they kept the Lite Brite so that I could get it first. It's sad but I used to push the other kids out of the way so that I could have it first.

I loved playing with all of the 80's toys. My sister would force me to play with dolls and the My Little Ponies with her. But overall, that stuff brings back so many great memories. :) :crying:

Does anyone remember that thing where you put construction paper in these little flower things, and then put them in this machine, and turned the handle and it came out the other side. And when you opened the flower thing, the construction paper made cutouts of flowers, and you put them on these plastic stems? Does anyone remember those?
