I think I finally figured out what my appeal to Taxi is...or any old show for that matter. It has everything to do with the "time period" that these shows were on. Much like music, I think it reminds us of a time when we had different responsibilities (or none at all) and it helps us indentify and stay somehow connected with our youth. At least it does for me.... That's the beauty of reruns I guess

Taxi had a lot of great "guest stars" too. I think that it also captured that workplace atmosphere and the relationships that sometimes develop out of them.

Taxi is also like that item you had in your hand at the store several years ago but didn't buy, and now you can't find anywhere. I learned my lesson with that one. For all the times I could have taped it off of TV, I didn't. I guess we all take for granted that the shows will always be there. Oh well, anything that is good eventually comes back and they have to realize what a marketing potential there is for a show like Taxi (with a video and DVD release).

The proof is that next month, movies like Three o'clock high, The Last American Virgin, and Valley Girl are being released on DVD (love the 80's too). So, there is hope. We'll just have to hang in there...

You make a valid point.

Ditto. I learned that lesson the hard way. To quote the song Big Yellow Taxi (no pun intended, lol) "you don't know what you got till it's gone."
