View Full Version : So is UM done for good or what?
Blackout 08-06-2003, 06:51 PM lifetime keeps making all these new shows to fill the 8pm time slot
and even though they have a crapload of unreleased segments waiting to be aired, they dont seem to be doing anything about/with them
i wouldnt mind seeing the guy who does the voice for Forensic Files and Medical Detectives do the voice for UM
i dont expect the show to stay on forever obviously, but UM is still very popular so i dont see why Lifetime would throw it away like they have been for the past year
Brent88 08-13-2003, 02:07 PM according to Lifetime's website, it will air this Monday Night at 8pm ET.:D
elvisfan 08-13-2003, 08:27 PM I also hope that Lifetime will continue to air US on a regular basis-there are way too many stories out there that must be resolved!!!
BTW, is America's Most Wanted still on? If not, john walsh could step in as host:)
CrushedVelvet 08-14-2003, 09:52 AM Well, I guess we fans better start recording all the repeats now in case they decide to cancel in the near future. Maybe Sci-fi channel could pick up the show??? I will FREAK if thy end UM alogther (reruns and all) b/c come on, you can still watch Rhoda and Leave it to Beaver a thousand years after they were filmed......ya know??
sinatrastar 09-01-2003, 10:20 PM Rhoda - LOL

Yes, America's Most Wanted is still on. It airs on Saturday nights on Fox. The ratings for that show are still strong, which is amazing for a Saturday show.
John Walsh is still the AMW host, and also hosts his own daily syndicated talk show The John Walsh Show (check your local listings for time and station). So I imagine that the idea of him hosting UM would be pointless. Besides, he's too busy with his aforementioned shows anyway.
sinatrastar 09-02-2003, 11:36 AM William Shatner could do it. He had that rescue 911 show for a while. I can hear it now --- "Maybe ... you ... can ... help .... solve .... a .... mystery!"
Composite Sketch 09-02-2003, 02:27 PM Yeah, Shatner is odd enough to make a good UM host. I'd buy that.
America's Most Wanted - another favourite show of mine, but it takes second place to UM any day of the week, though!
Brent88 09-02-2003, 06:42 PM starting tonight Unsolved Mysteries will be back every weeknight at 8pm ET. as well as still on at 1pm ET.
Ninjaman 09-12-2003, 11:03 PM What about Patrick Stewart as the host of Unsolved Mysteries. I believe that he has the voice to do well at the job. His presence would be quite different that Robert Stack, but I think that he would be a good alternative.

He'd be ten times a better host than Shatner, because at least he's not afraid to admit that he's bald!
Bluejay 09-18-2003, 09:14 PM Yup... Patrick Stewart is bald on television!
Other Unsoved Mysteries hosts I'd like to see:
Nichelle Nichols. Still beautiful after all these years! and wotta voice...
What about Michael Dorn? (We're on the lookout for an embezzler who has NO HONOUR!) Seriously, he has the presence and the impressive voice.
But the most realistic choice may be Richard Belzer. He's been associated with a long line of snarky but compassionate law enforcement officers, from Inspector Bill Henderson on Lois and Clark to Detective Munch on Law and Order: Traffic Violations ... uh, I mean Special Victims Unit and on the old Homicide show (which was better). He looks good, speaks well and has a gift for deadpan humor and dry wit.
I love the way Bob Stack used to kind of just barely sparkle at you when he gave you a pleasant update or told you something cool. Tonight he actually smiled when he said the Lake Champlain monster's been declared an endangered species. He was just tickled pink. Me too.
niceicedudeman 09-25-2003, 07:24 PM As much as I love this show, I don't think that they should make any new episodes because it just wouldn't be the same. Let's face it: NO ONE could replace Robert Stack; he's just too unique.
Also, it would be bad in other ways. I wish that they had not changed the opening and music of the show over the years because the original opening and theme music were so creepy and interesting. They could never make the show feel as creepy as it used to be, so they should just leave it alone.
sinatrastar 09-25-2003, 08:32 PM well, it would be diff. but maybe still good!
