After Cordelia left, they replaced her with Anya, who did you like better - Anya or Cordelia?

I like Anya better. Her character brought laughter in the show and her and Xander were a great couple.

Another hard choice. I do like both, but if I had to choose, I'd say Anya. Emma is an excellent actress, imo. Well, so is Charisma. But Emma did one hell of a job on Hells Bells.

Aww, I saw that episode a few nights ago, it was sad seeing her so happy and wanting to get married, but to have that crushed in an instant thanks to Xander :smash:

My mom can't stand Hells Bells. Yeah, Xander should've made up his mind and told Anya before the wedding date. But then again, I can kind of sympathize w/ Xander a bit. Look at his parents. You know that old saying about repeating mistakes. He had the fears before hand and the future he was shown, just made him freak out big time.

But she was very happy, did Xander have to break her heart right there at the alter? He finally found some one that REALLY loved him for him and he blew it. Xander is a stupid fool imo.

He shouldn't of done it on the wedding day. If he had doubts beforehand, he should've mentioned it way before the wedding day. I mainly felt sorry for Anya, but yeah, I did feel a bit sorry for Xander.

Cordelia! She was my favorite character on the series, hands down. She was very important to the series, too, since they had to replace her with two characters (Spike, so he could insult the gang, and Anya, with her superficialness).

Anya.

I've always said that anyone who doesn't like Anya or Andrew has no business watching Buffy.

Your opinion doesn't make sense. Anya and Andrew weren't in the show until later on. Fans didn't have to get use to them. I hate Andrew, Oz, Riley, and the initiative, so does this mean I have no business watching Buffy?

Cordelia! I grew to like Anya, but she was still never much else than a Cordy replacement to me.

Anya and Andrew are perfect examples of the sense of humor that Joss, Marti, Jane, and the other writers have. Anya and Andrew are hilarious, and make Buffy way more funny than any comedy, despite it being classified as a drama. If you don't understand the non stop humor that comes from those 2, then I would say you can't fully understand the show.

Anya. Only b/c we got to see so much more depth within her character. I still can't believe we never wound up with Xander. They were totally perfect for each other, and should have been together. I read the book Chosen, and it adds a few lines to season's 7's events that brings a new twist to the final episode without changing the premise of the episode. I cry every time I read it.

Though, I had to chime in with the fact that I don't particularly care for the Initiative or Riley, either. There was just something lacking from season 4.

The nerd squad from season six never sold to me, either. I think the true villians on S6 were the core characters' inner demons, which was brilliant writing and planning. Andrew was funny in S7, though.

Season 6 and 7 were good, but they still lack the quality the first seasons did.

I love Anya, but I love Cordy even more. I like that over the course of the first three seasons, Joss Whedon was able to make the audience genuinely care about a character like Cordelia. I remember feeling so bad for Cordelia after Xander cheated on her, and she got impaled. Also, I just love the line from the episode "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered:" "Keep your mom aged mitts off my boyfriend!! Former!!"

That's a toughy. Both definitely had their moments, but I think Anya had that certain naiveness that added to where her character could go. For instance in the episode The Body she was just brilliant.

I loved Cordelia the best.

I loved Cordelia when she was on the show and then I loved Anya when she was on the show. If I can't say a tie, then I'll go with Anya.

I liked Cordy's story arch, of how she started off the show distant from the group because she felt she was too good to hang out with them. And as the show went on she became more and more involved with the group.

As for Anya, I think her fear of bunnies makes her cute. lol

Anya, though I thought the character was woefully underused and underwritten until late in Season 6.

Anya, so far in seeing the show I like Cordelia a lot more on Angel
