this show is so funny why does it seem to have such a small following it shares the same type of humuor as shows like lucy but is overlooked especially with tape traders.this is my first post hope that it comes out okay:confused:

Since "F Troop" only ran two seasons (another in a long line of ABC screwups over the years; see also "Sledge Hammer!", "The Job", "Police Squad!" among others) there have only been 65
episodes to rerun; yet despite this handicap it has been very popular in syndication for 35 years now. Only a handful of shows have been as popular in reruns with fewer than 100 shows: "The Honeymooners" and maybe "The Munsters" and "The Addams Family" are the only comparable sitcoms in that regard. Out of 50 years of television, not bad. Look at all the 2-year shows that you never see rerun anywhere anymore.

The 5 year run on Nick has also been mentioned in other threads.

The show's episodes also sell very well on ebay, for amounts higher than Columbia House charged per videotape in most cases.
(Despite the fact that Columbia House left out the classics "The Day The Indians Won", "The 86 Proof Spring", "Johnny Eagle Eye", and "Here Comes the Tribe" among others; their episode selection left a lot to be desired)

To sum it up, the show remains very popular, and will likely gain wide exposure again at some point in the future. I'm thinking a DVD boxed set is inevitable, and I would encourage others to
write Columbia House to request more volumes; they've only released 30 of the 65 episodes so far.

Thanks for clearing that up mabye it isn't fairing too badly after all i can't believe columbia house left out episodes, the reports I heard about the tapes seemed to be that they were doing a good job of them even if they were slow releasing them.Im getting my set from a tape trader after much searching because people selling columbia tapes on ebay wouldn't ship overseas i wonder if this is because columbia house wouldn't ship to australia either.:wave: :wave:
