View Full Version : Series Finale: The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings
Czas na Zywiec 08-05-2003, 01:09 AM Don't anybody go to the episode description at fox.com. I heard that it reveals way too much info on the finale, and even ruins the ending by saying what happens. However, I found this nice, non-spoiling, summarry at CGEF (http://www.gotfuturama.com) and I thought I'd post it. However, if you're desperate to know the ending, by all means look at it. Just don't be mad because I warned you. :p Last time ever doing this...
4ACV18 - The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings
Fry, in an effort to win Leela's love, makes a deal with the Robot Devil to become a gifted musician. He has tried to take Holophoner lessons, but his teacher claimed he had "stupid fingers." Bender realizes that the Robot Devil is the only one to help. Fry makes a deal only to regret it immediately as it comes with a hefty price.
Remember, Sunday, August 10th at 7PM EDT/PDT, 6PM CDT/MDT on FOX. (Leaves a bad taste in my mouth.)
Also, one more tidbit. I went to the FOX site myself, and was trying to avoid what was mentioned in the guide. But one thing caught my eye. It was really odd, because it said 'Season Finale', not Series Finale. Idiots don't know the difference between the last episode of a season or the last episode ever.

Or maybe they just don't care.
Anyway, I expect this episode to be very funny, very emotional, lacking Bender (I don't think there'll be enough of him unless he's an important part of the plot, which I don't think will happen), and have a sad ending (like Jurassic Bark).
I'm looking forward to seeing the Robot Devil again. Hopefully he'll be as good as he was in Hell is Other Robots.

And I'll stay away from Fox.
Tenaciousd1212 08-07-2003, 12:36 PM For those who didn't know, this episode was made because of angry letters sent by parental christian groups complaining about bender's influence on children (YOUR WATCHING FUTURAMA, A SHOW THAT DOES NOT ADVOCATE THE COOL CRIME OF ROBBERY). I hate parent groups, they try to strip us of our rights to do anything funny.

Wrong episode.
Microprosa 08-10-2003, 04:22 AM Aww... the final caption. See You On Some Other Network :D
Microprosa 08-11-2003, 12:14 AM I loved this episode! It was funny, Beezlebot was great, and the musical last act was terrific! The ending was sweet. Ahhh... closure.
Goodbye, Futurama!
:clap
Czas na Zywiec 08-11-2003, 02:29 AM Wow.
Pure brilliance. From all of Bender's jokes, "Bite my shiny, metal....OHHH NOOO!", to the Robot Devil begging Fry for his hands back to the very last line by Leela, "I'd like to hear the end." And all the cameos like Zap, Scruffy, and Nixon. - sigh - I'm really going to miss this show. It's episodes like these that make you mad at Matt for creating the show only to have FOX kill it. And if it wasn't for the wonders of the internet, I never would have seen the 'See You on Some Other Network' line. My local FOX missed it by a millisecond and started the tape too late.
I, however, did like the fact that Futurama crashing into the screen was the 'classic' cartoon they picked for the screen for the ship to crash through, lol. I dare you $5 to say that 5 times fast. ;)
nimrod_86 08-11-2003, 01:53 PM I thought it was great. When I saw the plot for it, I figured Fry was going to end up dead, so I was somewhat suprised by the ending.

My Fox station started late too. Funny line...I'll have to catch it somewhere.
Central Perk 08-12-2003, 08:01 PM This episode was defintely one of the best. The Opera was great. I especially liked the Robot Devil in this episode.
Microprosa 08-13-2003, 02:05 AM Yeah, the Robot Devil is great.
