Are any of you going to see this movie? I believe it's coming out on August 15th. I'm usually not into horror movies, but this one I'm definitely going to check out. Iv'e been wanting to see a Freddy verses Jason movie for a long long time now, so this one should be good. Hopefully Freddy kicks Jason's butt!!!

I was a fan of both movie franchises growing up...so there certainly is an intrest.

If they decide to do a sequel, I think they should combine the names of the two franchises and call it Friday on Elm Street. I think that's what they should have called this movie. Hopefully after Freddy takes out Jason, they'll do a Freddy vs Chucky movie. That's another one I'd love to see. That, and Freddy verses Pinhead from Hellraiser.

You're probably right. If either of these guys end up winning this battle, it'll probably be Jason since he was always more popular. I'm guessing that they'll just have these guys try to battle to the death, and after they each find out that they can't kill off the other, they'll join together and become allies. Either that, or the two will morf, and become one. I know, I know, I have a wild imagination. What I want to know is how did Jason come back to life? Didn't he die in Jason goes to Hell? Was it ever revealed how he came back?

I'm gonna go see it since i grew up on the NOES and FT13TH movies. I don't think Freddy nor Jason will win, but it will be fun watching them fight.

I read that the makers of the film are hoping it will be the start of a new series. They want to make more after this one.

I heard that the F13 series will go up to 13 parts then end. Freddy vs Jason is part 11 in the F13 series and part 8 in the NOES.

Why is it so many fans always want more and more sequels- doesn't anyone want to see it end?

I'm not a big fan of the movies- I saw the Freddy movies years ago and recently rented Jason X and Freddy's Dead.

But seriously- moviemakers will keep making sequels thinking 'we'll wrap it up in the next film' but eventually the movie execs will just say 'we don't wanna do a next film' and it could be 20 years later before someone else asks to direct a sequel to end it all- but Robert Englund will be too old!

Of course even if they do end it, even if they don't leave it open for a sequel they will always somehow manage another movie. I think the reason most sequels and remakes are made is because there are fans of the film which have now grown up and want to be involved with their fave film- so it's likely some fanatic will still make another film.

I'm a big fan of Hannibal Lecter- and after the prequel (The Lecter Variation) is made I wanna see him die or something to tie up Hannibal's saga.

I've only recently began watching horror movies (and yesterday was he first time I looked at the cover of Stephen Kings 'It' without getting creeped out by Tim Curry as the clown) but if you think about it- if movies like Halloween and Friday the 13th weren't made in the 80's- do you think they'd hae much of a chance of being made now and still have all the sequels?

I'm not critiscising Freddy Vs Jason- I also wanna see the film, but i think it's time they killed the series. For god sake somebody should learn if you wanna kill Jason- chop him up into little pieces, then cremate him, divide the powder (so it doesn't reassemble), add white food colouring and sell as cocaine to about 100 people (who'll probably die from digesting it) and if you're gonna freeze Jason- bury him beneath the sea afterwards with a 'DANGER-IMMORTAL SERIAL KILLER INSIDE'. label.
My 7 cents

I had a BLAST at this movie! Freddy was as funny as ever! I liked it very muchly!

(And, no... I'm not saying who won, here... I'm just saying it was very cool. No matter if Freddy won or last, I think it was still awesome.)

:D

I saw it today and i'm gonna go see it again tomorrow. It ruled!!! It was awesome and just look at my siggy if you wanna know who won :D. Freddy didn't stand a chance against Jason! I have never been this excited over a movie. FVJ is a must see! i loved it!!! :D I'm just mad 'cause they said Lisa Wilcox was gonna be in it and she wasn't :(, that really sucked!

I grew up watching both film series', so I went to see FvsJ and, I must say, I was a little disappointed.

My taste in film has changed...or my taste in horror films, rather. I've grown into more of a suspensful thriller type of guy, this film was lacking suspense and there certainly weren't any thrills. Don't get me wrong, it was great to see these two titans of the genre in the same film, and I guess that was a thrill in itself. But I just couldn't get into it the way I did when I was younger, I guess I've just grown out of it. Oh well, at least I still have fond memories from my childhood.

I was watching Wes Cravens New Nightmare last night (it's a good film- better than Freddy's Dead) but every once in a while it would get to a scary bit and the phone would ring. Then Freddy was waiting to jump out and someone just knocked at my door three times really hard! I hate it when people do that during horror films- everytime I watch a comedy it never happens!

Anyway- does Freddy Vs Jason explain how Freddy is back? In New Nightmare he existed in an entirely different way. It's kind of like Blair Witch 2- it just tells us the rest of the movies were just movies- this ones real etc- so you couldn't really put New Nightmare in order- you could just assume it happens after 'all the other films'
Complicated...
Well, once every week now I rent a film, so far in horror I rented Jason X, Freddy's Dead and New Nightmare (I know- I never watch these series in proper order- I'll get round to it) so next day I'm just gonna get Freddy films to see the whole series. I got sucked in!

This was the best F13 or NOES movie. Jason Ritter has as much acting talent as his dad. I loved very minute of this movie.

Well, your FVJ sig isn't even up anymore, but I saw it earlier today. Jason didn't even win, so yeah, I'm pretty sure that Freddy did stand a chance. He was dominating the whole movie as well as the fighting.

mmm, yeah Jason totally got his butt kicked, is that why at the end Jason was the one still standing?

Yes I wish Lisa Wilcox would have at least had a small part.

Did you or did you not see Freddy wink? He's still VERY much alive. Just a little... scattered at the moment. There's still enough left to the imagination for another sequel.

As Freddy said in NMOES 3: "I am ETERNAL!"

And in NMOES 6: "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but NOTHING will ever kill me."

You really think so? That's my least favorite one. The badly-animated skeleton and mini-Freddy doll made me laugh so hard. Although, it's important cuz it explained a lot of things. (Like Amanda.)

My order is:

1 and 8 tied
6
5 and 4 tied
2
3

~~~~~~~~~~
I haven't seen New Nightmare. My friend Kayleigh and I were supposed to watch it together before the movie on Saturday, but she got grounded and she told me to go with Stacie instead. So I never watched it before I saw FVJ.
:rolleyes: :crazy: :rolleyes:
Someone mentioned in this post that Jason won, but actually nobody won considering the fact that Freddy's still alive. Basically Jason won the battle, but nobody won the war. We probably wont find out who wins until part 12, or 13 of the series.
Did Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child die in the movie?
