Who do you think had a better taste in friends? Wally or Beaver?

they both had their share of bad friends but i would say Wally, none of his friends got him in trouble with the law twice, or made wally smoke a pipe full of coffee grounds

I would say Wally's friends were better. His friends looked up to him, even if they didn't admit it, they all admired him for being a good student, athlete and popular with girls.
I think Beavers friends just saw him as some kind of goof. They all liked him but they knew how easy it was to talk him into things he shouldn't do.

I have to agree that Wally had the better friends. But I think too, that Wally was a leader and Beaver was a follower; that's why Beaver got into more trouble regardless of the friends he had. And Wally had his share of dopey friends but they tended to follow Wally instead of Wally following them. Can you imagine what kind of trouble Wally could have gotten into if he followed Eddie the way Beaver followed Larry, Gilbert and Whitey?

I'm going to break the trend here and vote for Beaver's friends. I admit that since Beaver was more of a follower than a leader, he got into trouble more often than Wally. But I think that Wally's friends were equally a potentially bad influence, plus they were creeps as well. If it weren't for the fact that Wally was more of a leader, he probably would have gotten into just as much trouble as Beaver (in fact, even more).

Anyway, I think Beaver's friends were a bit sweeter.
