Producer Leonard Goldberg has revealed that he is developing a movie based
on the TV show Fantasy Island.

That is awesome news and i will go to see it thats for sure. Hopefully its more like the 70's Fantasy Island than the 90's one. It would also be nice if they could get Ricardo Montalban To play Mr. Rourke.

That's great news but will it be good? It seems like big screen movies based on TV shows rarely do very well, especially nowadays.

Yeah that would be great. I dunno if id like it much if it was like the 1990s version :lol: Im hoping its like the 70s Fantasy Island.

It's mentioned in the link that the big-screen movie will be based on the '70's TV show. I believe in the this movie, they will use other actors/actresses other than the original cast members to play the characters (but I can see them making cameos), similar to what they have been doing in the big-screen Charlie's Angels movies.

Does anyone know if they're still planning on doing a big screen Fantasy Island movie? I haven't heard anything about it.
