Which one of the main character did you prefer? Jonathan Baker or Frank "Ponch" Poncherello? I liked Jon much better. He had that mellow kind of personality that fit the 70s and early 80s pretty well. Plus, Larry Wilcox was such a great actor. I haven't seen any of the Jon-less episodes, but they must be terrible.

I had to vote for Ponch, since he was my favorite. Guess it's because I had such a crush on him as a kid, though I really do have to agree with what you said about Jon. I still watched CHiPs after he left, but it wasn't the same at all. It didn't take long before I quit watching the show all together.

Out of the two, Ponch was the best. :)

Both Larry Wilcox & Erik Estrada talked on-camera but off-camera they hated each other's guts!! But thankfully, they patched up things later!!

Me, too! All the other girls had a crush on Ponch, but Jon appealed to me much more.

After seeingthe episode with Ponch disco dancing, I knew that Jon was the cooler of the two.

Jon had the brains and heart and soul and was the straight man while Ponch was the brawns, comic relief, and put the sex in the show!! I like both of them!!

I stopped watching when Larry Wilcox quit the show due to his feud with Erik Estrada and the chemistry was lost by showing his replacements!!

CHiPs started in 1977, not 1978.

Ponch is the best for me and have just voted to state that.
Even in season 6. his acting was stronger, and he was not in Larry Wilcox shadow.

JON is my favorite. I love his personality, I love how he seems like such a gentleman, I love how smart he seems, I love his hair, I love the way he looks in his uniform, I love the way he looks in plain clothes...to sum it up: I LOVE JON.

Gotta go with Jon here. I thought Larry Wilcox was an absolute hottie - plus I'm more drawn to blond guys. Don't ask me why. :lol:

I vote for Ponch!!! I love Latino men! As you all probably know by now, I've posted how I thought Freddie Prinze, Tony Orlando, Juan Epstein and Desi Arnaz Jr. are hot, Desi Sr. too when he was young!

I do like blonde guys too sometimes. But Jon, well sorry to all the girls who like him, no offence but he doesn't appeal to me! David Soul was a really hot blonde guy, and I totally crushed on Bucky Covington, a country singer from 2006 season American Idol. He was a cutie pie!!!

Both were great but in a do or die situation I'd have more confidence in Jon.

That beautiful brown skin, Those beautiful brown eyes! He has REALLY dark brown eyes, pretty! That body, those muscles, that smile OMG. I don't know why I didn't watch this show that much when it was on first run? And Ponch has a great personality too! Very down to earth and fun!!
