How many of you can picture Freddie doing a veriety show?
With musical guests and of coarse up and coming comedians and maybe a segment for interviews like Mike Douglas had.
I would have been cool to see him interview Jack and vice versa
and to see him dance and hear him sing!! WOW
and lets not forget the comedy sketches and spoofs of his favorite program zorro!
Are there any other ideas out there?

He would've been great at doing a variety show! Jack, Mando & Tony Orlando wouldve been frequent guests. Other guests would've been Jay Leno & Alan Bursky & Richard Pryor & lots of other comics. Freddie would've been great singing on there & doing skits! :)

I can picture that Joy. We know he had a wonderful singing voice from watching him on the TOAD shows. It would have been wonderful...he could have taped his variety show right after finishing the taping of the Tonight Show..which he could have hosted after Johnny Carson retired.

OH Yeah!!! I believe it Jay Leno is good but lets face it he's no Freddie.
and i wouldn't be surprised if Jay being a friend of freddie's didn't wish that Freddue was still here to interview him for the tonight show.

Seeing Freddie perform on the TOAD show, I think he would have made a great variety show host. He would have fun doing comedy sketches with his guests, which I know would have included all the big name stars of the day. I could see him doing a sketch with Flip Wilson dressed as Geraldine. OMG wouldn't that be funny, him trying to come on to "her" and Flip acting like he does!
I know if he got to host his own show, he would get to sing more too. I would have loved for him to bring his old band from NYC on and play the drums with them too. Wouldn't that be something!
As for hosting the Tonight Show, Freddie would be the greatest, no question!
All I know, if he did all the things we wanted him to do, (these and all the movies we wanted to see him do) he would have been one tired hungarician! :D

So...... you want to see the proud papa interview his son, huh? Well, it's not quite perfect, but you'll get the general idea. ;)

OMG! Where did you find that picture?!?!?! Two of my favorite comedians together! I have always loved Flip Wilson. I had an album of his back in the day, but I don't know what happened to it. It was one of his shows that was recorded. I always loved his variety show. Freddie would have been a hoot on Flip's show. It is nice to see them together like that! I bet Freddie had some fun! LOL
