Hi,

Even though I was a HUGE fan of "Happy Days" when it started, by the time the series ended I was working Tuesday nights and didn't catch the last season. Today on TV Land they ran what I am assuming was the last episode. Joannie and ChaChi got married and Richie and Laurie Beth showed up. As Howard toasted the couple, he mentioned, twice, having raised only 2 children. Now I'm old enough to remember older brother Chuck appearing during the first season and mentioned off and on. Did I miss an episode where Chuck died or did they just basically forget about him? Great site, by the way. Thanks.

Welcome osfanmike! They just wrote Chuck off the show like he never existed. It's kind of been a long standing joke. Jim Carrey's character on "The Cable Guy" even mentioned he was Chuck Cunningham.

The main reason they wrote off Chuck was because Garry Marshall decided that Fonzie was more of a big brother to Richie and so since that Richie didn't need two big brother, they got rid of Chuck because Fonzie's character was becoming very popular with the audiences.
