Must have been a combo of hot lights, too much clothing, and weak deodorant.

Do you have any idea how hot it is in a TV studio?! Especially back in those days, when the studio lights were murder. Actors used to faint! Back then there were only deodorants, not actual anti-perspirants, (I believe they came into use in the fifties) and they'd never have coped anyway. Modern ones probably would.

Poor Desi. Anyway, not everybody disapproves of being sweaty you know! In some places it's positively encouraged!

Yeah, got to France, where they don't shave under their arms and then carry their bread under their arms. Join the club Dawsongirl, i too always notice that and also when they are in bed and have dirty feet, then again like Mickey pointed out, this is filmed in a dirty studio, with concrete floors and hot lights and all.

LOL Thats disgusting!! But it is really hot under those lights... so its not his fault! I didnt notice that they have dirty feet.. course i wasnt looking real closely.. lol.

Well, because in real life you wouldn't go to bed like that, but we forget they're filming in a dirty studio. Of course on I Love Lucy they went to bed in their stockings or socks to not delay filming so their feet always looked ok.
