Anyway, do you guys remember "New York, New York," where Jo and Blair come into the city to meet their old friends? Anybody know anything about Alexa Kenin, the actress who
played Jo's tough Bronx friend? I know she was murdered in 1985, but there's essentially no info out there about what happened. I've been curious about her -- she was in a lot of movies and TV and was always good.....

That was one of my favorite all-time FOL episodes. I'm sad to hear about this actress http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif I thought her and 'Jo' were about the same age but according to the Alexa bio she was actually 4 years older than Nancy.

From the limited info I have found, she was murdered by a fan she wouldn't talk to.

This is the first i ever heard about Alexa Kenin being murdered, i had know idea! She was one of those girls that always poped up in the early 80's pop culture of movies and sitcoms, i was wondering what hapenned to her.. Ironically she played Molly Ringwald's friend Jenna in Pretty in Pink, remember her line "i hope they shrivel up and fall off" "Her breasts ms. deeds" She also was in the movie Little Darlings where she played friends with Kristy Mcnichol's character which Jo was based on.

Yup, she was the one quoting Shakespeare in Little Darlings...I've read everything from an asthma attack, to being murdered, to a heroin overdose...whatever it was, it was not well publicized....

It says that she died in 1985, pretty in pink came out in 1986 so i was wondering if this happened while she was filming the movie? I always thought her character should of been in more scenes. Maybe they delayed the release of the film, but i don't remember hearing anything in the media about her death when the film came out. She always played the tough talking Jo type of characters in most of what i've scene of her work!
