I cannot believe I missed the Mike & Gloria for Turkeyday
ep from season 9 --or was it on Archie's Place season 1 ?

I thought the 8th season guester Xmas in California was their last appearance

can somebody give me the scoop if this was a good ep or not?

also- give me the rundown on Mike & Gloria history

I know this much
8th season (1977-78) M&G go to California at end of season
9th season (1978-79) Stephanie arrives and they visit M&G in CA
to find out they are separated after Gloria cheated w/Bud Kreeger.

Archie's Place - ?? 1979- 1980

1980-1981
Gloria returns w/o Mike saying he joined a commune
after he flipped out about Ronald Regan becoming president

1981 -- Gloria spinoff begins

The Thanksgiving ep was part of Archie Bunker's Place. It was season 1. I thought it was a nice ep, we did get to see Gloria and the Meathead, so yeah it was a good ep, imo.

Is that the episode where Mike and Archie talk in the kitchen late at night? They have a funny but heartfelt conversation over turkey leftovers? They are, for once, actually honest with, and good, to each other? Is that the one?:)

Sadly, that scene was the last time that all four principals appeared together. It was the last time that Rob Reiner appeared as Mike, the last time Jean Stapleton taped an episode as Edith (she appeared one more time in an episode taped earlier). It also left unresolved a situation where Mike lost his job for marching in the nude (although it was mentioned later they returned to Santa Barbara but whether Mike got his old job back was not clear).
