View Full Version : Sad news! HIGH ENOUGH 07-28-2003, 10:43 AM The actor, Bob Hope, passed away at the age of 100! :( ~LadyJess~ 07-28-2003, 10:59 AM This is so sad. I was watching the episode with him in it just 2 days ago and I was thinking that he was one of the few people on that show that was still alive, and now he's gone. :( Mickey 07-28-2003, 11:12 AM Yes, I just heard this on the news about an hour ago, and it is terribly sad. Like with Katherine Hepburn just a short time ago, it's the end of a terrific era. He had a long and happy life, but that doesn't mean it's not sad. And yes, the whole line up for the wonderful little song 'Nobody Loves The Ump' is now gone. Seems like such a shame. http://images.amazon.com/images/P/6301778367.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg SPLAIN 07-28-2003, 02:28 PM What a great pic Mickey! Yes but living like that, not being able to walk or talk, not to know what's going on, he's better off this way. Thanks for all the great memories. *ShortCake* 07-29-2003, 10:44 AM Gahh.. everyone is leaving!! :(. He will surely be missed.. heaven is taking all the great people... Rest in Peace Mr. Hope! I am sure heaven is kickin.. now that they have Kate& Bob! ~LadyJess~ 07-29-2003, 01:46 PM I was driving around downtown Detroit yesterday and I passed the Fox Theater and on their billboard they had, "To Bob Hope: Thanks for the Memories." I thought that was so sweet, I wanted to cry. Mickey 07-29-2003, 03:20 PM Be nice to be that popular, wouldn't it! SPLAIN 07-30-2003, 09:38 AM He got every tribute one can possibly get, flags at half mast, Broadway lights dimmed, everything! *ShortCake* 07-30-2003, 10:28 AM Originally posted by SPLAIN He got every tribute one can possibly get, flags at half mast, Broadway lights dimmed, everything! He deserves every ounce of it too .. ;) Does anyone know if they are going to air the funeral on tv?? ... Mickey 07-30-2003, 11:42 AM I'd hope not. It seems somehow disrespectful (though he did always love an audience!). There's sure to be some kind of public memorial service though. Maybe they will air the funeral, and he'll jump up at the end, 'cause it was all just a joke... SPLAIN 07-30-2003, 01:12 PM I noticed they didn't ask Marlon Brando for a comment, maybe because he used to refer to Hope as an applause junkie! Barnabas1 07-30-2003, 01:24 PM That's so sad!!! :( |
