HI EVERYONE!
I'M NEW TO THIS BOARD, BUT HAVE BEEN LOVIN' LUCY SINCE I WAS A LITTLE ONE! JUST WANTED TO SAY MY FAVORITE LUCY ANECDOTE. AFTER 9-11-01 I WAS GLUED TO THE TV NEWS LIKE EVERYONE ELSE IN THE NATION. I CRIED WHEN I SAW THE FAMILIES BEGGING FOR INFO ON THEIR MISSING LOVED ONES, AND WAS INCONSOLEABLE TO SEE ONE FIREFIGHTERS FUNERAL AFTER ANOTHER. BY SATURDAY OF THAT WEEK OUR LOCAL TV STATION STARTED REGULAR PROGRAMING AGAIN AND ONE OF THE FIRST SHOWS I WATCHED WAS "I LOVE LUCY". I KNOW SOME FIND IT STRANGE, BUT IT GAVE ME SUCH COMFORT! IT FELT LIKE THINGS WENT BACK TO NORMAL, EVEN THOUGH I KNEW THEY'D NEVER BE THE SAME. I LOVE LUCY AND RICKY AND FRED AND ETHEL BECAUSE THEY ARE SO TIMELESS: AND I WILL ALWAYS BE A HUGE FAN OF THE SHOW THAT STILL MAKES ME LAUGH OUT LOUD.

Yes welcome to this site and what a great story! I too joined the Lucy boards after September 11th, it woke us all up and made us long for the days of the fifties and so few worries compared to today!

Welcome!! Nice to meet a fellow fan! Last night, my husband, 3 children and I played the "I Love Lucy" board game. We played the scenes from "The Freezer" and "Vitameatavegamin" on DVD before the game so we could imitate them well during the game. It is so fun to watch the current generation gain an appreciation for the classic TV shows and actually ask me if they can watch them! And as Nena4 said, I still "laugh out loud" even though I've watched them all hundreds of times!

There is a game. It is the "I Love Lucy Game" and you can purchase it on the TV Land Web site. We got ours a few years ago at a toy store. It's just a fun board game. You get to imitate scenes from ILL episodes. My kids love to play it! They're actually pretty good at imitating the scenes eg. when Ricky loses his temper. My 10 year old son bugs his eyes out and pretends to be yelling in Spanish. It's hilarious to watch! My kids, ages 10, 6 and 4 love to watch I Love Lucy, which makes me happy!

Thanks for the description Lolac, always wanted to know about those Lucy games, and LOVED your description of how your kids play out like that, great family fun, so rare nowadays.

Oh Splain, you sound like such an old man at times! :)

That's probably because i AM an old man, i just turned 53. The only thing that keeps me going is looking at pics of Lucie Arnaz who still looks very young at 52!

53 isn't old. Bob Hope said he wasn't old (or didn't feel it anyway, which is the important thing). Hell, look at Mick Jagger. He's seven years older than you, and still young and bouncy. :)

Oh you're far from being the only one here with mental anguish. You're just the only one who creaks more than the bed when he gets up in the morning!
