But the show ended in the 90's so technically they can be considered 90's characters.

HUH??? What you said does not make any sense. So that means since the Jeffersons, Three's Company, Alice, Barney Miller, and Happy Days all started in the 70's but ended in the 80's, that means those are 1980 sitcoms??????????????

It means they can be considered either 70's or 80's sitcoms. It doesn't mean they are only one or the other.

LMAO it figures you wouldn't understand.

It's like Seinfeld is considered a 90's a show even though it started in the late 80's. Same with Full HOuse it started in the late 80's but people consider it a 90's show.

Heck the full house board here is under the 90's not the 80's.

So Perfect Strangers can be considered by SOME to be a 90's show, just like some consider Seinfeld, and Married with Children, heck some even consider Roseanne a 90's show.

It's the decade the show ends in, is why it's considered a show of that decade, and not the decade it started in.

Senfield is considered a 1990's show because it started in 1990. Full House really belongs on the 1980's board because it started in 1987. Perfect Strangers started in 1986 and only aired for the first two years of the 1990's decade so how could anyone think Pefect strangers was a 1990's sitcom?

Correction: Perfect Strangers ended in 1993, so it ran three years into the 1990s. (Well, four if you consider the years in the 1990s in which the show ran were 1990, 1991, 1992, and 1993.)

THe show still premeired in 1986 which makes it a 1980's sitcom

I think that a show should be associated with the decade that the majority of its run occurred in, like if it started it's run near the end of a decade i'd round up to the next decade. For example Night Court and Cheers both started in the 80s and the majority of their run was in the 80s, but I associate a show like Roseanne which started in the late 80s as a 90s show, because the majority of it's run was in the 90s and it has a 90s flavor/attitude.

BTW, My two favorite 90s characters are Kramer (Seinfeld) and Mr. James (NewsRadio). A close runner-up would be Dick Soloman (3rd Rock).

But Perfect Strangers was in 86 so it;s no way someone can considered that a 90's show. Plus the Show was on Haitus in 91 so PS is defintley a 80's sitcom. Now Family Matters which started in 1989 is defintely a 90's sitcom.

Roseanne can be considered a 90's show. since it was aired in 88 and 89. But PS was on in 86, 87, 88, 89. And also Laverne and Shirley aired in 1976 and ended in 1983 so would you consider L&S a 80's sitcom???-LOL
