animalcrackers 07-25-2003, 06:26 PM A great movie, very inspiring! Well cast, great acting. I had goosebumps and was a little teary eyed at times. 2 thumps up!!
I only wished at the end of the movie they would tell you how everyone lived out their lives.
Pitooey 07-25-2003, 08:07 PM I've already heard great Oscar buzz for this movie. They are giving it GREAT reviews.
Titania 07-25-2003, 10:02 PM I really want to see this, the book was sooo good

I'll probably see this, my grandmother will probably drag me, but i wanna see it anyway, so i'm not gonna complain. I actually had the book in my hand today and I WAS gonna buy it, but i had no more money left because I bought Spongebob Slippers. :D kinda makes me sad. slippers or book..... but i couldnt resist slippers!
It takes a while getting going with all the character establishment and plot build up and what not, but the latter end of the movie is well worth the wait. Thouroughly enjoyed it! Also hadsome great quotes in it!

hehe i have a horse he isnt a thoroughbred though.. warmblood instead but he his pretty damn cool! :D. I know i was trying to talk my dad into buying a race horse.... he was like um.. are you crazy?? haha. Course we already have two horses ( the warmblood and my sisters pony) so no more horses :(. .. im not obsessed i swear.. i am definatly going to be buying the dvd.. have you read the book yet you really should! The movie left awhole lot of stuff out. I am surprised they put the history in it though with the cars and such first. Usually you would think they would leave that part out.. LOL.. and I think thursday they are going to be playing the Seabiscuit documentary with Shirley Temple and Mickey Rooney on AMC. :D I cant remember the time of it though!

I used to have horses, I miss them all. I just started reading the book, and I did see a few documentaries on Seabiscuit. Yes, the movie did leave a lot out. But that's okay, it's still a great movie. Wouldn't have been something to have actually seen the race between Seabiscuit and War Admiral or any of Seabiscuit's races?

definatly!! I have been around horses for most of my life... and i have never been to one single race track ever. I think I may make my trainer take me to one lol who knows. But, man that would be amazing to see that race im sure it was incredible!
Janice 12-19-2003, 01:11 PM I adored this movie. Chills and thrills and everything in between. I had a lump in my throat for almost the entire movie. Even my husband cried at certain points. It's quite an emotional film.
The music was incredible, and the racing scenes were off the charts great.
Superb performances handed in by Jeff Bridges, Tobey Maguire and Chris Cooper, and the horse(s).
I loved the 30s setting. Seabiscuit is getting some awards. There's not a doubt in my mind.

On the DVD bonus features, there is a lot of vintage film footage with Seabiscuit's races....not in their entirety, but interesting still the same. They show Man O' War and War Admiral too.
There's such a rich history in that era of racehorses.
tvfan 2 12-19-2003, 04:38 PM Is Seabiscuit a remake? I saw movie on TCM . It was really good movie!
