kimmy gibler 07-25-2003, 11:02 PM I picked Final Destination because those have to do with things that could happen....they're more true to life. Like how Freddy always kills you in you dreams--of course, that's not real. Final Destination the plane crash and everything were just real and really scary. You don't want those things to happen to you in life. I hope I am making sense.
However, when I was little I watched both Child's Play and IT when I was about 5 years old. Those scared me to death. I always thought that MY BUDDY doll was Chuckie...so I'd try to smother him, throw him against walls, hide him in trunks, etc. Also, when I watched IT it seemed like there was this commercial on 60 minutes (one of those shows) about a killer clown on the loose while I was watching that movie. It scared me to death.
But Child's Play was the one the scarred me the most. I had nightmares about Chuckie many times. I always thought he was a true character. I was about 13 until I could get the guts to watch it again and believe it was a puppet. I always got creeped out around weird looking dolls.
starsprite 07-26-2003, 12:29 AM Gremlins were horror movies?? heh
umm but I have to pick Scream because I used to be obsessed with that movie..all 3 of them actually...
Halloween(1, 2 and 6) and Urban Legend get honorable mentions!
dandelion wine 07-26-2003, 02:30 AM I chose Halloween, but there are others I'd also go with as favorites!
My Bloody Valentine
Jaws
Jaws 2
Jaws 3 (Sure beats Jaws: The Revenge, and it was fun seeing it with those 3D glasses)
Dracula (Especially the Hammer flicks)
to name just a few..
Brian Damage 07-26-2003, 12:12 PM Halloween
Glith 07-28-2003, 04:54 PM I like all the Evil Dead movie's but Evil Dead 2 is my faverite.
DianeChambers87 07-29-2003, 12:47 PM Exorcist! Come on guys the most of the other movies aren't even that scary when compared to the exorcist. Especially the new digitally remastered version....EVERTHING looks so real. If you've never seen it you should really rent it.
*ShortCake* 07-29-2003, 12:58 PM The Others.
BrandonS 07-29-2003, 01:09 PM Psycho.
It practically started the genre. The shower murder scene has 78 shots in 45 seconds.
pandora_spocks 07-29-2003, 01:34 PM I picked A Nightmare On Elm Street because that was the first horror film I ever saw at a very young age and I've always been obsessed with it so thats why I picked it. I also love Halloween too.
onefortheroad 08-05-2003, 06:23 PM i loooove horror movies, i own over 150 of them. i don't find any horror movies scary, but out of the choices listed i guess my favorite is The Evil Dead, with Friday the 13th, Child's Play, Halloween, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Psycho close behind
onefortheroad 08-05-2003, 06:26 PM you shouldve taken off the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter movies and the Scary Movie movies because theyre not horror movies, and you shouldve put The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Rosemary's Baby, and Alice Sweet Alice on there, and maybe some other horror flicks like Maniac, Madman, Just Before Dawn, or Sleepaway Camp
JDS84 08-05-2003, 07:14 PM It
*MIBabe03* 08-06-2003, 12:12 AM Halloween and The Exorcist.
Klynn 08-13-2003, 05:07 AM halloween,IT,Psycho
Rockapella722 08-14-2003, 02:22 AM I picked Nightmare On Elm Street. There's some really good ones in there along with it - like 'It' and 'The Excorcist'. Right now, though, I'm on a Freddy kick. I watched 4 of his movies today. I'm watching 1 tomorrow, 1 on Friday, and 2 on Saturday (including Freddy vs. Jason!)
Maybe I'll vote again and vote for 'It'. That movie was a staple of my childhood from about 5th grade on. I absolutely ADORED that movie - and the book. I can watch it any day, and time, with - or without - anyone and anywhere. It doesn't scare me anymore, just bewilders me.
I used to ride my bike to school way back when... like in 3rd grade. I remember this one day it was raining. I was SURE I was gonna turn around and see Pennywise following me. Stupid me, I actually DID turn around and look. Childhood stupidity.
