I was just wondering what people thought about this. As everyone knows, at the end of season 8 Roseanne wins the lottery (even though we find out it never happened in the very last episode) but I was wondering, how would the show have been effected had Roseanne won the lottery in the first episode. Would Darlene have been grounded for forging her parents signature on a test, or for breaking curfew, or any of the other things she did to get grounded? More importantly, would any of the kids ever get grounded had they been millionaires? Would Roseanne have ever met Leon considering they met up at the diner and kept in touch through out the series? I am just wondering what people think about this. Also if you want to play around with this try to create an episode had this happened. Lets say Becky is 15, Darlene is 12, DJ is 5. They win the $ 108 million jackpot and lets say Becky and Darlene are going to an unsupervised party. You take it from there. Do they have a curfew? Do they get caught? Does anything happen to them? If they get caught, do they get grounded (remember they are millionares) lets have some fun with this.

I don't think the show would have lasted all that long if they won the lottery in the first episode.

I'll agree there - I think that if the show went off the deep end right away, it would have been cancelled by Christmas.

Roseanne was a very different show when it premiered on tv. It was realistic with parents in the lead that didn't look like celeberities, and dealt with real issues.
The show got a little unreal once Roseanne was pregnant with Jerry Garcia.

OK, maybe it wouldnt be the best idea, but dont you think it would be interestig to see a TV show where the family members are millionaries. How does the family deal with the fame? Do the kids get the same kind of punishment as middle class kids do? How many "long lost cousins" does the family have? Doesnt anyone think that might be a interesting idea?
