View Full Version : Long Version Theme Songs dl72190 07-23-2003, 09:51 PM Does anyone know why they don't show the long version theme songs every episodes. db108108 07-23-2003, 11:14 PM To get in more commercial time. this is the same reason why TBS doesn't show the tags the the show used to have before the commercials breaks (ie- Don't touch nothing, we'll be right back) dl72190 07-24-2003, 11:09 AM Do any stations still show the long version theme songs every episode. I know there are a couple ones where TBS shows them in maybe once or twice a season. Except seasons 1,2,7,8, 9. Also do any stations show Roseanne billed as Roseanne Barr the first and second seasons. beckyc 07-24-2003, 03:49 PM I was watching Roseanne on PRIME and it was an episode from the first season, the one with the dead guy in their kitchen, and at the end, they didn't play the credits in the tag, it was like the tag and then it was camara going around the table but nobody was sitting on the table and then at the end it shows DJ coming up from under the table grabbing a cookie and then going back under. I forgot all about that. Why doesn't TBS show that? dl72190 07-24-2003, 07:36 PM I have saw that on tbs in like the second episode of the First Season. SchuminWeb 07-25-2003, 01:32 AM Oh and about the Roseanne Barr thing, PRIME TV in Canada shows the episodes EXACTLY as they were, not edited in any way or form...Even the little tags that were mentioned before are included...I always wondered why TBS showed her as Roseanne Arnold???...But then again TBS is screwed up with everything.... I don't think that's just TBS. I believe all three "Roseanne Barr" seasons were retrofitted to say "Roseanne Arnold", and it's been retrofitted like that ever since she married Tom Arnold. Interestingly enough, though, when she went from "Roseanne Arnold" to just plain "Roseanne", they didn't retrofit everything again, and so the first through sixth seasons all say "Roseanne Arnold" on them, then it changes to "Roseanne". They need to change it back to Roseanne Barr on those first three seasons for historical correctness. Ben F. Schumin :-) dl72190 07-25-2003, 10:47 AM I always thought that was weird that the entire show didnm't say Roseanne after she broke up with Tom Arnold. I also think that they only showed her billed as Roseanne Barr in Season 1- and about half of season 2. Then for the rest of season 2, all of 3,4,5,6 she was billed as Roseanne Arnold. Then from 7 until then end of the show she was Roseanne. Although in the last season I think she was billed as Roseanne Thomas in few episodes at least. db108108 07-25-2003, 11:41 AM Actually, the first episode of season 9, she was Billed as Roseanne Barr Pentland Arnold Thomas, a joke on herself, just as the beginning of season 7 (or 8), she was billed as just Roseanne, and the rest of the cast, for the one opening, when by their first names only. dl72190 07-25-2003, 12:08 PM Sorry about that I think it was the executive producer colum that had her as Roseanne Thomas. AKA 07-27-2003, 04:20 AM When the series first went into syndication in 1992, Roseanne was married to Tom Arnold, and ordered the credits switch. By 1994, they were divorcing, and Roseanne Barr was simply known as "Roseanne. By that time, all the syndication masters had been created with the "Roseanne Arnold" credits for seasons 1-5, and it wasn't really feasable to go back and adjust the credits yet again, so the credits stayed "Roseanne Arnold." The original "empty kitchen table" closing credits were what originally aired on ABC. The series didn't start using closing credit tags until the third season, so the episodes were "re-adjusted" for syndication. I hope Oxygen and Nick At Nite air the episodes as they originally aired. BeatleMoe 08-05-2003, 07:18 PM TBS has shown the same versions as local TV stations. (Except the language editing in those three episodes). I know that because they do the same with other shows. TBS is a syndicated channel, just like local syndicated channels. That's why I think n@N will restore scenes like with Three's Company. |
