:D Yeah I know. As much as I want football to come I still don't want summer to end. It's getting to that point in the year where i'm torn, I want the days to hurry up so football will start but I want them to slow down so summer won't go by so fast.

Gah, even though I'm 17 I hate seeing big groups of teenagers. I'm rarely, like once or twice throughout the year, found in a big group, and I'm so uncomfortable when I am.

I just think the coming off fall is kind of a downer. It starts getting darker more quickly, the weather starts getting colder, and the green leaves go bye-bye. And then for some of us there is the start of SCHOOL! I think I equate fall with school actually, so maybe when I am finished with school, the start of fall will stop being "such a shock." I doubt I'll ever really like it though. I am the summer type... with the long days, and hot weather.

The only good thing about fall for me is the baseball playoffs. The new tv schedule is okay, but I never actually look forward to it.

Clarinet.

I tried out for flags this year, but unfortunately I didn't make it. It kind of made me angry because my one band director was a judge and is in charge of that, she said I did a really good job! It makes me wonder how close I was. =x

I always do. I started playing the clarinet when I was in the 6th grade. I started going on more band trips starting my freshman year. In middle school, you just go somewhere once a year. High school band has always been fun. My sophomore year we went to Dallas, Texas. I will never forgot that trip! I don't think we'll be going out of state though going into my last year of high school. I am not for sure if I want to play my instrument in the college level. Who knows what I'll decide in the next few months!

I really like to travel. Hopefully after I graduate, I'll be able to travel lots of places. I want to see the world and learn different cultures...and go to fun places...and meet lots of people, of course.

My only problem is I'm going to have to save up money and have some good friends to come with me. It's not always fun being alone, you have to have a few friends to travel with.

I think it be really cool to visit Spain. I have a friend there, plus I do speak some Spanish. I wonder how'd I do with my Spanish speaking. It help in speaking though. I am always watching Spanish tv shows to see if I comprehend the words or if I watch tv shows that have a couple of words in them. I'm like oooo I know what that means! Oooh, Spain is definitely on my list of places to go. Crossing my fingers the I'll get to see Europe in my 20s. I am horrible at speaking spanish. I used to try and watch some of their goofy soap operas with the closed captioning on, and I still can hardly figure out what they're saying! I didn't take enough spanish I guess. I took one year of French. I forgot mostly everything in there. I just know Oui. I hope I spelled that right. I'll be taking my third year of Spanish this year. I think I do a pretty good job at it and plus I love my teacher. My favorite thing are always the skits! I dressed up as Christina Aguilera and said "Dirty" in Spanish at the end. It's "Sucio" I thought it was a pretty silly thing at the end. My teacher thought it was so great cause I stuck my butt up at the same time. But it was this talk show thing. "Conan" interviewed me off course, since I'm Conan obsessed. The whole thing was in Spanish. I even recorded myself being an announcer in Spanish while the Conan theme song played.

Our teacher tells us about all her trips all over Europe and places. I am so envious of her because she goes to these great places. I love how she talks about France though. Cause she has met some pretty rude people there. Which sucks that the French people have to be like that.

I remember watching this one show on TV and it was nothing but the French language. It was weird how I could recognize some of those words in there, but I think either French is based on some Spanish or the other way around. Some of the words are the same.

Yep, you spelled oui right! That's cool you get to do skits in spanish. LOL about Christina Aguilera! We rarely did skits in my foreign languages classes. I took German too, but only for half a year. I would like to take that more too, but I may end up taking spanish in college because it's fun. At my high school the French/German teacher (She taught both) would take students to Europe every other year. I could have had my chance then to go! But I didn't really want to go "as a school" thing. Both my high school and college teachers talked about how rude the people in France can be. And both teachers were originally from Europe, so they really knew what they were talking about. And of course, us Americans know how they can be.

There is this show on PBS called "French in Action" and they air it at like 5 AM on Wednesday nights here. I try and watch it, but don't get very far! It's suppose to be a teaching program, but they go so fast! And there is no english translation. I'll need some good translation books if I go to Europe someday. I think my favorite country to visit would be England. But then I want to see them all! Well, except for some of the eastern countries--those I could do without.

This year, I think I'll have to take a skit in for competition. When you are in higher/college level Spanish you have to be in some of the competions mandatory for a grade I think. Last year, we could enter contests and didn't have to participate (since I was in earlier learning one). I entered art. I drew this little mexican dude cartoon with a sunglasses wearing cactus. I think a drew a horse too. I am not for sure. I don't have the drawing with me since my teacher has it. I didn't win anything though! Because in this competition different language arts people participated. I love foreign languages. I think it would be cool to learn a dead language like latin or gaelic. You could talk and talk....no one would have no idea what you were saying. I think that would be a lot harder to learn though! I might just get a tattoo in latin (find out what it means first haha). Then, I wouldn't tell them what it meant! Muhaha!

I think that's the show I watched the other day. But it seemed to me to be more in the afternoon. It seemed to me like it was a show from the 80's. All these teens/one kid would have a conversation in French with tea and biscuits. Then, this newscaster guy would talk all in French. I forgot the title, but that's what I remember.

Yeah, I think you are thinking of "French in Action." It came out in 87. I remember watching it way back then and the part where they freeze the person over and over, as they repeat a sentence, would freak me out. LOL. There is this one grandma type lady on there sometimes... ewww scary. And the newscaster guy ain't so swift himself.

Learning a dead language would rule! I am such a goof ball. I want to learn ALL different languages! I know I probably won't tackle a new one that I haven't already started, but still. And gaelic would be awesome. My name, Cashodeen is suppose to be a gaelic word, but what word, I don't know! LOL. My grandpa who was irish (he was born in the U.S. though) would say it. I should have asked him what it meant! I'm too chicken to get a tatoo, but if I did, that type of one would definitely be awesome.

Ok yeah, the repeats did scare me too!

Yay for Irishness. My great-grandparents were like full blooded Irish. I want to know more about my family. My cousin is making a family tree/heritage book of where all our family came from and such. When I turn 18 in March, I want to get my belly button pierced. And I want at least two tattoos. The latin phrase would be cool and then I want either a dolphin or fairy on my lower back. I don't know where'd I put the latin phrase? Below the fairy/dolphin maybe. I just want to try things out. My whole point on life is to not regret things I do or not do. I want to be able to say I tried everything. I want to just be able to do all the things I can. You know? I'm one of those girls who just goes out for adventure, I guess.

I prefer green too. I love summer, If I could have summer all year round and still live in the Northeast, I'd be so happy. Heat and Humidity? Bring it on! Daylight savings all year round too, I hate night driving. :grr:

I am! I am! :) I'm from the Detroit area but go to school at MSU

Okay, the Lions? Ouch. No offense, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them to make it to the superbowl. I think college football is much more exciting. GO SPARTANS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love fall, it's my favorite season - but I'm in no hurry to see it. I've got to get all my papers done first, plan my trip to Denmark, pack up, move out of my apartment, fly to Pennsylvania, then make it back to Lansing, move into my new apartment, plan my schedule for next year, and THEN it can be fall

Have you ever thought about being home-schooled? I am, It's a lot better than getting up every day, and going to school.

I can't wait for fall! I hate summer weather!

I for one also can't wait for Fall to get here, because of football starting, I don't care if its highschool, college or pro football it can come any faster, but hey the first pre season game starts a week from tomarrow at 4 A.M. central time, between the Jets and Buccaneers, when they play in the American Bowl in Japan, man I wish it was August and September already!

Yeah, Jo Polniaczek, you'll do great at junior high school! Everyone starting is in the same situation as you. Don't even worry. I know that's easier said than done, but it'll be easy. You'll see. ;)

Yeah, but you'll eventually have to get used to getting up everyday and going somewhere--whether it's college or work. I know being in home school you get to put that kind of schedule off, but you still get to look forward to it someday! ;)

Don't you ever sometimes get bored being home schooled? If people who are home-schooled can still mantain frequent contact with their peers, them I say, go for it. But as a rule, I think home school sucks.

Not everyone's mom has the time to homeschool - especially if there's more than one kid. I'm not gonna start in on all the reasons I'm against homeschooling - we'll save that for another thread ;)

I have to agree with you on that. I love Fall but the summer here in Michigan has been very pleasant so far. I've only had to use my AC a few times yet it is still warm enough for swimming. We haven't had a summer like this in years. Last year it was so hot and hardly rained at all.
