Buffy and Angel Action Figures Cancelled (http://www.action-figure.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=8543&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0)
In what is likely to be a massive blow to all Buffy fans, MAC has told retailers that the Buffy and Angel action figure lines have been cancelled...
You may have heard rumors about this, but we've got hold of the actual announcement that was sent out to retailers.
It's a shame because the Buffy figures we showed as part of our Wizardworld East coverage got tremendous fan reaction, and I truly believe that Dark Willow would have been the best selling figure from the entire line.
All is not lost as MAC have said they will make use of the sculpts and release limited edition statue dioramas. However, both the Angel and Buffy lines are cancelled as can be confirmed by this email that went out to MAC's retail customers
There are many of you who are wondering what is happening with Moore Action Collectibles' long-awaited action figures based on characters from
Twentieth Century Fox's Angel and Buffy television shows. We feel that we owe the following explanation to all of our loyal customers.
While fan reaction to the Angel Series 2 Wesley, Lorne, and Darla Action Figures was great, the fact remains that general orders do not support the high cost of producing them. The cancellation of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer television show has affected the orders for both the Buffy and Angel Action Figures, so MAC has made the decision to hold off production of both lines.
We realize that this news may be disappointing to our collectors. However, you may be pleased to know that we are taking the sculpts of the figures and releasing them as limited edition statue dioramas, which will be part of a series that began with the sold-out Spike Statue released through Moore Creations.
