I remember Solomon posting a thread saying that when Esther said, "Watch it sucka." over and over again, it became stale. Does anybody feel the same way that whenever Fred faked a heart attack it grew stale after a while?

I don't really think it did. It was funny almost every time.

Absolutely not. Fred's phony heart attacks were the funniest part of Sanford and Son and they always cracked me up. It was a lot funnier than hearing Fred call Lamont a dummy.

Nah,because just the reaction of the people around him in the scene. Lol! Look at Lamont his face is just like "My pops at it again"! Lol! Plus the stuff Fred would be saying, like when he thought Lamont was marrying the older woman and he told Fred he was leaving home. When Fred had a "big one" in the dress boutique, that was PRICELESS! Classic Red! Matter of fact let me get over to my dvds and get my S&S fix before bed!

Hell no. Those 'this is the big one!' and 'I'm comin' Elizabeth!' lines never got stale. The sight of him grabbing his chest with one arm while the other was flapping about never ceased to crack me up.

Nah,because the circumstances under which triggered the "Big One" were always different. Like when he found out Lamont was going out with Grace, the older woman. And he had one in her boutique, "get married...make it clear....leave home,I'm comin' to join ya honey,to discuss this with ya"! Or something like that. I'm cracking up just thinking about it!

They never got old to me. I especially loved how he'd throw in an extra sentence to make it fresh. "Elizabeth...I'm comin' to join you, honey - with a fifth of flapple in my hand!" or "This is the big one...I'm comin', Elizabeth - with a Puerto Rican goat!"

I agree; each heart attack differed by Fred adding a sentence that was germane to the situation. It also became a trademark of Fred and the show. Anytime I've ever mentioned the show to someone, they always recall Fred and his "I'm comin' to join you Elizabeth" shtick. It was classic, really.
