View Full Version : TBS screwed up again!
The Modfather 07-20-2003, 07:10 PM I was watching Dumb and Dumber today on TBS and the wrecked every thing like when he riped the heart out of that guy they didn't show it and then when u just see him fall he out of no where has a bag. And when hes dreaming about the farting and flame they didnt show that! I hate when they show movies on TBS! damn them to hell!:cuss: :cuss:
Cashodeen 07-21-2003, 04:14 AM Oh yes, I could have warned you about Dumb and Dumber and TBS before you had to be disappointed by the network's rather recent chopping up of movies. In fact, when I returned again to SO after a 1 1/2 year hiatus, I remember specifically one of my first posts talked about D&D and TBS's bull---- with editing. I can't believe how they have ruined the movies they show. D&D was decent on TBS a long time ago. Then they got wacko with their editing. D&D is not even worth it on TBS anymore.
kirkm486 07-21-2003, 05:15 AM heh... did you notice how they replaced the line "Kiss my ass" with, "Kiss my Sandwich" ?
 :rotflmao:

:rotflmao: I don't remember ever catching that when I did suffer through the showing of D&D after TBS went "Edit Crazy."
¤Graced¤ 07-21-2003, 02:48 PM And they took out the part in the dream where Jim Carrey lifted up Lauen Holly's dress and laughed. That was Hilarious! But those bastards edited that too. Lorde you can see stuff 10 times worse than that on another channel... Maybe the people running TBS are prudes?
ConservativeBalla 07-21-2003, 03:06 PM WB's editing of this movie is 10 times worse than TBS's though. And, are you sure they weren't editing for TIME, rather than just plain CONTENT?

Sure it could have been for time, but they cut out more of the risque, or violent scenes. When they could have just cut out a few boring scenes.
As far as I'm concerned, it wasn't worth watching in the first place because it wasn't shown in its OAR (original aspect ratio). TV networks need to start respecting the filmmakers and show movies in widescreen, like Turner Classic Movies and IFC do. AMC used to show great movies uncut, without interruption, and in OAR. Look what they've become.

:rotflmao: My friends and I saw that and laughed so hard about it!!
TBS has to be the worst when it comes to editing movies for content and it's very annoying
Cashodeen 07-22-2003, 12:46 AM Something else to add about TBS and their editing (ugh it drives me up the wall):
The Breakfast Club was decent to watch on TBS before TBS went "edit crazy" a couple years ago. Since then, they editted Bender saying "eat my socks" instead of him saying "Eat my shorts." Now how in the world is "eat my shorts" worse? What's weirder... the SAME night I was watching this movie, "Grumpy Old Men" was being advertised, and the commercial had Max saying "Eat my shorts." I guess if it comes out of the mouth of a senior citizen it is considered proper.
seriously though, I don't know how this editing works. TBS may have no incling that they contradict their editing from one movie to a next. It still sucks though.
The Modfather 07-22-2003, 07:23 AM Ya, I saw Breakfast Club as well. And they really hacked it up! I loved that movie and look what they did to it. I also saw Cable Guy and they edited that out as well man it makes me mad!
Celestia 07-22-2003, 12:21 PM When I was watching The Breakfast club TBS I could barely make out what they were saying because the muted out so many words! When the muted out the words one time, they muted out some words that wern't cuss words!
And they don't show anything in Lake Placid! Which was half the fun!
