He got injured the other day playing against Houston i think. He's been with Cincinnati for 6 yrs now & he can't stay healthy. He injured his shoulder, i forgot which one. He also has to have surgery on one of his legs again. His career is done. He might as well retire right now. He was never hurt this much when he was with Seattle.

Its certainly odd that hes getting hurt this much... He hasnt been with Cinci for 6 years though... in 1999 He was still playing for the Mariners

You're so right--he's done. He'll probably come back after this, but he shouldn't bother. He shouldn't have bothered coming back 2 injuries ago. I laughed when I heard this on tv. They said he'd be out the rest of the season.

I live near Cincinnati, and all my local sports section talks about are his latest injuries. :rolleyes: It gets old after awhile. I think that if this keeps happening, he should get canned. No use wasting money on him.

He was unable to play for long stretches of time. He spoke of retirement, and almost did retire. Then ... he decided to rehab and give it another go. He hit 70 homeruns!:cool:

IT always puts "lol" whenever he talks about a player being injured, having drug problems, etc. I don't understand why stuff like that is funny to him?

I was wondering when this discussion would come into play. I was "guilty" of laughing too. If people will refer back to my last post, I said I "laughed when I heard [about Griffey's injury] on tv. Injuries in general are never funny because that would mean to laugh at someone's real pain. I'm sure Griffey was hurtin bad, but when I saw that he was relatively okay (the dude look "okay" walking off the field), I laughed at the fact that he hurt himself YET AGAIN and won't be able to play for a long time YET AGAIN. I guess you have to be a former Griffey fan to appreciate the humor in the situation. The probabilty of Griffey hurting himself is like the probability of the Sun coming up tomorrow morning. LOL.

I'm not exactly sure if his ego is as big as Bond's is, but my brother did have a bad experience with him a few years ago. He drove down to Seattle to see a Mariners game, and after the game my brother was in the hotel lobby. He said he saw Ken Griffey walk in as a bunch of little kids put out their baseballs, and memorabilia for him to hopefully sign. According to my brother, Ken didn't even look at these kids. Apparentely he looked really annoyed, and just walked past them as if they weren't even there. I don't know if this is an indication of how he is from day to day, but that experience definitely left a bad taste in my brothers mouth. Hopefully he was just having a rough day that day. Anyway, I like the guy. He seemed to be getting back to his old homerun hitting self before this injury, so hopefully he'll come back from this injury stronger than ever!

Well, I expect almost all athletes to be jerks towards the public no matter how much I admire the person; it's just the way it is. But with that question, I meant in the game of baseball, during the games and stuff.
