Anyone here remember when CBC used to air WKRP in the afternoon? Used to be required after-school viewing! I used to watch in Western New York on CBLT ch. 5 Toronto. Was also on the Peterborough, Ontario CBC. Episodes were mostly uncut, with original music intact. Aired from mid-eighties to early nineties 3pm-ish. If only I had known to roll tape......

I definitely remember that! That's how I first got introduced to WKRP, watching it on CBC. I used to watch it after school too. I remember taping a few episodes back then, but I've (stupidly) long since taped over them.

Oh yes, I remember watching WKRP on CBC from 1990-97. After that, The Comedy Network aired them up until April 2003. I watched the episodes from the Charlottetown, PEI, affiliate and that was when CBC was much better (it's gone downhill since then). They also aired Three's Company, Alice, The Munsters, The Addams Family, Welcome Back Kotter, Happy Days, Mork & Mindy, Laverne & Shirley, The Golden Girls, Empty Nest, Diff'rent Strokes, The Facts Of Life, Dallas, and The Wonder Years.

This is how I first enjoyed WKRP as well. I wish I had taped some episodes, but I was pretty young and took stuff for granted.

For many years CBC had a great block of retro tv, Taxi, The Adams Family and WKRP. I always rushed home to catch that great hour and half of tv. Those were the glory days when I could watch all that, complete all my homework from 5 to 6 and then have the rest of the day free.

I'm also a fan who discovered WKRP in reruns -- which I also didn't tape -- I probably tape too many other shows nowadays but I'd like to think I learned something from my mispent youth! LOL
Wish one of my local networks carried WKRP now!

I'd love it if someone would rerun WKRP again. One of our local Cleveland stations did in the mid-1990s, and I loved it. I have seen season 1 (DVD), and would love to see the later seasons, too.

I've email'd the RTN network and asked them to carry WKRP -- keeping my fingers crossed.

they do not air it any more, they were talking about the 90s etc.

I remember in the 90s how the local channels used to be amazing and have many different sitcoms. When you compare it with what we have now, it is depressing. It is also depressing how we all must have taken things for granted back then and are stuck with not-so-good reruns today

I live in Canada and I remember in the 90s how good it was:

local FOX channel:
5pm: Boy Meets World
530: Full House
6: Fresh Prince
6:30: Home Improvement
7: Cheers
7:30: Home Improvement
I believe it was something like that, but I might be combining a couple years lol

Also, I remember CBC and NBC used to show Family Matters and such good shows like that.

Now, it is filled up with Judge Judy and every channel has the same reruns of Friends, My Wife and Kids, you know, those types that we get at the same time and on every single channell... ughhh

also, another thing that maybe scoobiedoo 30 wants to know is that nowadays, CBC is airing shows like Frasier and Simpsons in the afternoon, definetly not the type of stuff it used to be...
