We experimented allowing images in signatures again for the past few weeks on the new server, and while most people followed the rules (thank you), we can't sacrifice the speed of the boards and sites for the sake of them. They were a luxury feature, not a necessity. With the upcoming launch of the photo galleries on August 1st, the server simply wouldn't be able to handle all the traffic. While the sites and boards used to be hosted on 2 seperate servers, everything is now on 1.
Here are the revised rules (subject to changes):
1. No images in signatures, smilies are allowed but do not use them excessively
2. No ascii art
3. HTML is turned off, but vB Code is turned on
4. Please keep signatures to no more then 5-10 lines of text, the shorter the better
5. No profanity (including going around the censor filter)
6. Signature text that is too obtrusive will be removed
7. Signature lines with just your name will be removed. User names are on the left of every post, there's no need to have it in your signature, too
If your signature is in violation of any of these new rules, it will be removed without notice. It is your responsibility to choose another signature that meets the rules, if you wish to continue to have one.
