i adored him!

...even going back to his radio days. Nobody, but NOBODY, could "explode" the way he did! The "blowtop" was the best character he ever played, whether it was 'Mayor LaTrivia' on "FIBBER McGEE AND MOLLY" {"THE JOHNSON'S WAX PROGRAM"}, 'Mr. Scott' on "THE PHIL HARRIS-ALICE FAYE SHOW", 'Rumson Bullard' on "THE GREAT GILDERSLEEVE", 'Rudolph Atterbury' on "MY FAVORITE HUSBAND", and, of course, 'Old Lard-Head' on "OUR MISS BROOKS". {"OLD LARD-HEAD!!!!!!"}
