To my friends on the TDVDS board, As I sit and watch my new I Love Lucy dvds and my new M*A*S*H season 4 set, I can't help but wonder, will The Dick Van Dyke Show really be coming our way on dvd? The date has been put back from September to October, and though they've announced the simultaneous release of Season 2 (which is great news!), I can't help but think, "I'll believe it when I see it." Are we all just a little depressed over this? No one seems to want to talk about it anymore. Oh well. Back to Hawkeye and BJ and Colonel Potter until Rob, Laura, Richie, Buddy, Sally, Millie, Jerry, Mel and Alan Brady show up in my mailbox. I hope you all are having a nice summer and that things will pick up on this board when we get our dvds.

What you say makes sense, Lolac. I kind of agree. Especially since Amazon hasn't updated their site yet about the new release date. They still say Season 1 comes out on Sept. 2. And I think they usually do stay on top of things, which has me worried. But I'm going to try to stay optimistic. Remember the old saying, "No news is good news."

I know what you mean, Lolac.
I actually stopped getting excited over news about TDVDS on DVD a long time ago. I have all of T/L's available discs, but then they stopped production. It just seems that the "news" is usually just rumors, and the end result is always bittersweet. I remember starting to collect the VHS releases, only to discover that not only were they not going to ever release all 158 eps, but the ones that got released were the edited versions! I know I sound like a Doubting Thomas, but I'll believe the "news" of the entire collection being available uncut, digitally remastered, & with bonuses when I have them in my hands (sorry Doug). I do remain hopeful, however.
I hope I didn't bring anybody down.
