Col. Potter joins the 4077th to replace Frank Burns and his short reign over the camp.

-The Late Captain Pierce
Hawkeye finds out that his family back home have been informed that he died. Then Hawkeye finds he has no way of contacting home.

-Quo Vadis, Captain Chandler
A patient is convinced he's Jesus Christ. Sidney Freedman comes to talk to the man, while Col. Flagg also visits the 4077th.

-The Price of Tomato Juice
Radar goes to extreme lengths in getting a morning dose of Tomato Juice for Col. Potter

-The Novocaine Mutiny
Hawkeye goes to a hearing to decide his fate, after Frank Burns claims Hawkeye tried to start a mutiny.

Season Four is a textbook example of a show surviving what could be death for most programs - major cast changes.

B.J. and Potter are certainly less silly than the surgeons they replaced, but they managed to fit right into the ensemble.

Also, with season four, we see a strong Commanding Officer in Col. Potter. He certainly can't be manipulated by Hawkeye like Henry Blake could. Plus, Margaret and Frank know that this tough "regular army" Colonel won't take any of the backtalk or complaints like they gave to Henry over his style of command.

We can also see the signs that mark the beginning of the end of the Frank/Margaret affair.

Though not as full of the hijinks that marked the first three seasons, season four proves that any good show with a strong ensemble cast and brilliant creative people calling the shots can ride out any storm.
