NewsRadio 1995-1999 / 97 episodes

This has been my favorite sitcom on and off since it's debut. Even though it went down in quality the year after Phil Hartman's death, it was still a good sitcom.

The Honeymooners......being that the show was done live - not, on the other hand, filmed live in front of a studio audience (as most shows are) - set up some classic ad-libs and one-liners. The show is still hilarious.

"Roseanne" all the way, even with the last season. Not since "All In The Family" have I seen a show that so seemlessly blended comedy, emotion and drama, although "Roseanne" did it in a sometimes less preachy way than "AITF" did.

My number 1 favorite is NewsRadio. I have lots of other favorites, but NR is my top favorite because it was funny and original.

One example of NR's brilliance is a scene where Jimmy and Beth are in the breakroom. He pulls out a stock ticker, because he's trying to help Beth pick some stocks. While the stocks go by, he says to Beth, "It's just like watching TV, except without those people running around doing stupid with a fake laugh-track". That line is followed by the laugh-track. Would "Friends" use their laugh-track as a punchline?

NewsRadio is my favorite show also. It's one of the few shows I watched during it's original run and still love today in reruns. I remember watching the first episode during it's original broadcast. And usually I'll watch a show's first episode and it takes me a while to like the show. But right from the first episode of NewsRadio, I had found my favorite show.
