In watching the later "Wings" episodes where Joe and Helen are married, I'm pleased to see that the BASIC Joe-Helen relationship has remained unchanged....

Sure, maybe the sexual tension is gone (and even THAT is SORT of still there, with Joe wondering if Helen will be in the mood to "do it" that night), the petty rivalry is still there....I love how Joe and Helen are always getting into a stubborn battle of wills over various decisions....aspects of their new home, various trips, etc.

Sometimes once sitcom characters get married, they settle into a bland "lovey-dovey" type of bliss, but not the Hacketts....Even though they're now a married couple, they're STILL "slapping each other with raw meat"!

Joe and Helen's relationship didn't get all different after they got married, like what happens on a lot of other TV shows. Yeah, the sexual tension is gone, but they didn't get boring and blah. They really have basically the same kind of relationship as before, and that's really cool.
I like the phrase you used- "they're still 'slapping each other with raw meat' " haha! definately.
