Did anybody see the new show on Bravo tonight called "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy"? OMG That show was SO funny. I was laughing SOOOO loud and hard.

When I first saw a commercial for it, my siblings and I just started rolling on the floor laughing we were all like "We have to see this" You could tell the generation gap b/c our parents were just sitting there NOT amused LOL

Anyway, just wondering if anybody else saw this and what they thought about it.

Personally, I loved it and will watch it again next week.

Haven't seen it. Sounds funny, though. At least I get Bravo. Since I moved to my dad's place I only get CMT, Life, WTN, Star, Prime, Showcase and Bravo. If I'm watching tv tonight and see it on, I'll check it out.

Bravo to Offer Man-on-Man Fashion Action
(Sunday, February 09 10:00 PM)

HOLLYWOOD (Zap2it.com) - - Straight slobs and the women who love them (but want them to change) can find salvation in the arms of five gay fashion gurus on "The Queer Eye For the Straight Guy," a new lifestyle makeover series premiering on Bravo in July.

Described as a one-hour guide to "building a better straight man," "The Queer Eye" will take heterosexual works-in-progress and expose them to the expertise of gay consultants who specialize in personal grooming, fashion, interior design, etiquette and culture.

The program will deconstruct the stylistically failed lives of its subjects, expand their horizons to the latest in trends and culture, and finally unveil the completed project, a perfect, complete straight man. This paragon will receive the "Queer Eye stamp of approval."

While it's unclear whether "The Queer Eye" will concentrate on men dissatisfied with their own gauche existences or uncouth boyfriends and husbands submitted by the frustrated women in their lives, creator and executive producer David Collins insists that the show will really be about "guys helping guys."
The unique sensibility comes from a meeting of minds between Collins, who is gay, and developer David Metzler, who is straight. Produced by Scout Productions, "The Queer Eye" will combine a savage dose of humor with the universal emotional desire for self-improvement. "Gay or straight, we all want to look good, feel good and have great shoes, of course," maintains Collins.

Jeff Gaspin, executive vice president of programming for NBC and Bravo hopes that the path from beer-swilling boors to wine-tasting aesthete will offer "a fresh spin on the familiar proven makeover concept."

Bravo has ordered 12 episodes of "The Queer Eye" and the first season will concentrate on saving straight New York males before unleashing its team of gay redesigners on other cities.

"The Queer Eye for the Straight Guy"
Don't get enough stereotypical portrayals of gay men from your prime-time sitcoms? Then you might be the target viewer for a new reality show in which "five fabulously trendy gay men" turn a straight man — not just any straight man, but a "crude and uncultured schmuck" — into a "hip and happening Renaissance man." Bravo is said to be interested. It sounds like a huge put-on, but TV Barn has the casting sheet to prove it.

BRAVO "THE QUEER EYE FOR THE STRAIGHT GUY" HALF HOUR REALITY MAKE-OVER PILOT SCOUT PRODUCTIONS EP: DAVID COLLINS D: TBA SHOOT: W/O 6/24, BOSTON, MASS. SERIES SHOOTS: SEP/OCT/NOV, NYC In the new reality-based series, The Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, witness the transformation of a typical straight type guy from crude and uncultured schmuck into a hip and happening renaissance man at the hands of five fabulously trendy gay men. The half-hour show assembles an elite team of professionals from the worlds of fashion, interior design, grooming, food and wine and culture and mercilessly throws them upon a straight male subject in need of a makeover. Combining the relevance and substance of Esquire Magazine with the wit and sarcasm of "Will & Grace," The Queer Eye for the Straight Guy is informative, entertaining and bitingly hip. Looking for 5 gay men (25-40, any ethnicity), with expertise in at least one of five categories: FASHION, Everything from runway couture to the mall. GROOMING, From hygiene to hair to all good-smelling things in between. INTERIOR/DESIGN: Both high end and low, how to fill a space and with what. FOOD & WINE: Where to eat, how to make it and what beer/wine goes best. CULTURE: What to read, see, do. All budgets, all locations. All must have a great sense of personal style with an organic sense of humor that is quick, clever and witty. Must be comfortable with themselves and with the camera, and are fierce individuals that can work well with others in this ensemble setting. Queer yes, camp not necessarily: Professionals first, gay second. Not looking to fill stereotypes ...
